Cancelled Event
THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED
Event Description
This is the only event of its kind on the West Coast. A 6 solo/team relay,12 hour solo, and 24 hour solo timed, USATF sanctioned event on a 400 meter certified track. This makes it ideal to run big miles or break records. Nearly 20 records(or pending records) have been set the first two years of the race and we only expect that to grow each year.
Just last year Courtney Dauwalter broke the women's 24 Hour American Record with a distance of 250.079 km! Laps will be recorded by electronic chip timing and will be submitted for USATF and IAU record purposes. Not to mention, we had 8 runners from last years event that went on to run in the 24 Hour World Championships! Who knows what the story line will be this year. Don't miss out on being apart of this great event.
Location
Riverbank High School Track, 6200 Claus Rd., Riverbank, California 95367
Race Schedule
The 6 hour solo/team relay will begin at 9am. The 12 hour(first half) will begin at 9am. The 12 hour(second half) will begin at 9pm. The 24 hour race will begin at 9am.
Packet Pick-Up
Friday pick-up at Fuzio's TBD or pick-up bibs between 8:00 and 8:45 Saturday morning. FYI Fuzio's Universal Bistro will give you a free appetizer if you show them your race bid number.
Timing
The lap timing will be done by Mike Melton. Laps will be recorded by electronic chip timing and will be submitted for USATF and IAU record purposes. Each runner will actually be wearing two chips to help insure accurate timing.
You may leave the track at any point in time during the race, but you must return to the same place before continuing. You must not linger near the timing equipment, to avoid double counting a lap. Your number of laps, distance, and race will be shown on an electronic display near the start throughout the event.
Online Tracking: Lap results will available live on the internet for everyone to follow. Race results will be updated each hour on the results boards visible for runners on the track.
Aid Station/Restrooms
We will have a fully stocked aid station throughout the event with water, electrolyte drinks, and food. There will be hot food provided at night. However, if you have a special diet or have food allergies plan to bring your own food. Volunteers can prepare food upon request and assist runners in every reasonable way. The aid station will be located on the infield of the track on the front straightaway.
Portable restrooms will be available just off of the track and "real" restrooms are available very close to the track.
Crew and Personal Space
This is a very crew friendly event. They will be allowed to set up personal space for runners on the infield for personal tables, chairs or rest area on the backside of the track. We are reserving the front side of the track for the aid station, medical tent, and timing tent. We ask that all crew stay off of the track and crew only from the designated areas. This will all be covered in the race briefing right before the race.
Awards
Awards will be given to Male and Female runners finishing 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in the 6 hour, 12 hour, and 24 hour solo races. As for the 6 hour team relay, awards will be given to the top 3 teams. The awards will be presented shortly after the duration of each race. All participants in the 6, 12, and 24 hour solo races will be given finishers medals AND those runners completing at least 100 miles, will be given an award signifying this special accomplishment.
Weather
Weather in Riverbank in February is unpredictable but it’s California….so how bad can it be?? High temperatures usually fall in the 60's and low temperatures in the 40's. We have 2 inches of rain fall on average for that time of year. Prepare for anything! Last year(2017) High temperatures were in the low 60's and lows fell into the 30's.
Lane One Etiquette
As long as you are making positive progress, you are entitled to lane one. Walking and running are seen as positive progress. However, if you are walking slowly or running with someone two or three abreast/wide, then we ask that you use the outer lanes and allow single file running to occur on the inner lanes.
Refunds
We do understand that injuries....personal events...etc...come up that don't allow you be there on race day, so full refunds will be given(not including the Ultra Sign-Up fee) if the Race Director is notified by January 1st. After that, NO refunds will be rewarded and NO race entries will be allowed to be rolled over to the following year. I know this may seem harsh but a lot of stuff is purchased prior to this date and because of the low number of entrants allowed for this race, we can not allow refunds past this date. I hope you understand.
