An Epic Destination Race
One of our most scenic races, both the Oregon Coast 50K and 20 mile start and finish right on the beautiful and rugged Pacific Ocean! The 50K will start by doing an out and back on the beach (mostly hard packed sand with a few creek crossings). From there, it joins the 20 mile course which weaves through the charming town of Yachats (pronounced YAH-hots), Oregon (affectionatly called the "gem of the Oregon Coast") until it jumps on the single track trail to do a loop through Cape Perpetua. The 50K will do a longer loop while the 20 mile does a shorter loop. From there both races retrace their steps and finish right on the seaside lawn of the Adobe Resort.
With several bucket list Oregon Coast destinations nearby (Devil's Churn, Thor's Well, Cooks Chasm) and several great restaurants, this is a place you will want to spend an extra day or two.
Post Race Festivities
Like any Rainshadow race, there will be a fun, post race party waiting for each runner at the finish line. You will finish right along the ocean and after your James Varner high five, there will be free wood-fired pizza and craft beer along with a live bluegrass band. We strive to be more than a race, but rather building a community for everyone involved. The party lasts until the last runner and sweepers come through and with free food and drink for all runners along with their friends/family and our volunteers, we love the atmosphere of people hanging out long after their race has finished to cheer on every finisher and make new friends. We do not offer race medals, but rather offer a beautiful course, a very well organized race, awesome support at the aid stations, and a free party for all.
