Email sent to race entrants on 4/5/17

Hi Super Western Maryland Runners!
The second Saturday night packet pickup option in Hagerstown was inadvertently omitted from the email sent to runners on Tuesday night. To clarify, there are three packet pickup options for the Western Maryland Rail Trail Marathon and Half Marathon as listed below.

The first Saturday night pre-race packet pickup is set for 4:30-6:00PM at Buddy Lou's Restaurant at 11 E. Main Street Hancock, MD 21750 which is just down the street and trail from the race start/finish.

The second Saturday night pre-race packet pickup is set for 7:30-8:00PM in the Lobby at the Holiday Inn Express at 241 Railway Lane Hagerstown, MD 21740.

Race morning packet pickup commences at 6:45AM at the race start/finish.

For your convenience, the original email sent to runners is copied below.

Hello Western Maryland Rail Trail Marathoners and Half Marathoners!!

Mike and I are looking forward to seeing everyone run well
Sunday at the fourth annual Western Maryland Rail Trail
Marathon and Half Marathon! A full field of about 200
runners are expected to enjoy the trail on race day.

Start times: The marathon starts at 7:30am and the Half
Marathon starts at 8:00am.

Remember the start/finish is located on the Western Maryland
Rail Trail just north of the C&O Bicycle Shop at 9 S
Pennsylvania Ave Hancock, MD 21750. There are two parking
lots located near the start/finish. One block east of the
start/finish is the closest parking lot which is located just
south of the WMRT between Williams St and Taney St S. A
second lot is another block east located just south of the
intersection of East Main Street and Church St.

Race day weather forecast is good: we should have mid-30's
with light breeze and pretty clear skies when the race starts
becoming warmer up to the high 60's by mid-afternoon. Perfect
running weather! Marathoners feel free to drop clothes off at
the start/finish aid station when reaching the half way point
of the marathon if desired.

There will be 5 port-o-lets at the start/finish as well as 2 each at 2 of the aid stations
on the course.

There are a total of 4 aid stations on this out and back course
so half marathoners will see the middle 3 twice; marathoners
will pass most aid stations a total of 4 times each so there
will be plenty of support along the way. We have our great
volunteers from the Hancock HS baseball team manning the aid
stations as a fund raiser again this year! Altis is proud to
support these local athletes so be sure to thank them on your
way by! As always our aid stations will be well stocked with
water/gatorade/soda/snacks (no gels or energy bars though so
bring your own if you want). Start/finish and at least two
others will have a combination of bananas and PB&J sandwiches
also. The middle aid station on the course will only have
water and very limited snacks.

As always, full race info and more details can be found on the
event website at

See you this weekend!
Thanks and Happy Trails!
