Event Details- 2018 Red Devil is Sold Out!!!
Please join us for the 8th-annual Red Devil Challenge Trail Runs — a 10K, a 25K and, new in 2018, a 50K — in the Wenatchee National Forest south of Cashmere. The event is held on single-track, well-maintained trails along the east slopes of the Cascades. The new 50K starts and ends at Sandcreek Trailhead and includes the Red Devil, Red Hill, Devil’s Gulch and Mission Ridge trails to form a loop. The 25K — also a loop with the start and finish at Sandcreek Trailhead — includes the Red Devil, Red Hill and Devil’s Gulch trails. The 25K features about 3,000 feet of elevation gain. The out-and-back 10K, which also starts and ends at the Sandcreek Trailhead, has an elevation gain of 1,000 feet.

The Red Devil event is part of the Wenatchee Valley Trail Run Series put on by RunWenatchee. Other races in the series include the Horse Lake Trail Runs (April 28, 2018) in the Wenatchee Foothills; and the Oktoberfest Trail Runs (Oct. 20, 2018) at Leavenworth.
Start times: 6:30 a.m. for the 50K, 7:30 a.m. for 25K and 8 a.m. for the 10K.
Start lines: Sandcreek Trailhead, Wenatchee National Forest.
Finish lines: Sandcreek Trailhead, Wenatchee National Forest
Packet pickup: 4 to 6 p.m., Thursday, May 31, 2018, at Pybus Public Market, 7 N. Worthen St. in Wenatchee; and from 6 to 7:45 a.m., Saturday, June 2, 2018, at the Sandcreek Trailhead, Wenatchee National Forest, south of Cashmere.
Parking: Parking is extremely limited at the trailhead (We strongly encourage you to use our shuttle service. See race shuttle schedule below.). A Northwest Forest Pass is required on all vehicles. Family and friends can see the runners near the Devils Gulch Trailhead and the finish area at the Sand Creek Trailhead.
Race shuttles: We will transport 50K runners at 5:30 a.m., June 2, 2018, from Milepost 111 Brewing Co., 407 Aplets Way, Cashmere, to the starting point. We will transport 25K runners at 6:30 a.m. June 2 from Milepost 111 Brewing Co., 407 Aplets Way, Cashmere, to the starting point. We will transport 10K runners at 7:15 a.m. on June 2. Runners will be transported back to Milepost 111 after they finish.
Essentials: We will have three fully staffed and supplied aid stations on the 50K course and two on the 25K and 10K courses. Stations will have water, energy drink and gels. Runners are encouraged to bring hydration packs/water bottles and or energy food to carry on this course as late May can be warm.
Trash: Leave no trace. Be kind to our beautiful forest environment and clean up after yourself. Please don’t abandon trash.
Course note: This trail is open to all users during the event, so if a runner encounters a mountain biker, motocross rider, hiker, etc., please give the other user the right of way.
Runner premiums: Each participant will receive a very cool Red Devil shirt, featuring our signature character, Diablo Rojo, as well as a commemorative finisher’s medal. In addition, show your race bib at Milepost 111 Brewing Co. in Cashmere afterwards and receive 75 cents off pints of beer, glasses of wine and root beer.
Post Race Food: There will be food and liquid refreshments available for all runners at the finish area. There also will be a post-race party at Milepost 111 Brewing Co., 407 Aplets Way, Cashmere, where participants who show their race bibs will receive 75 cents off each pint of beer, glass of wine or root beer.
Individual Awards: Top three male and female finishers will receive a commemorative Red Devil Challenge award.
