Welcome to R.U.T.S. Corydon

Harrison County Fairgrounds is the site for the 2nd running of Run Under The Stars in Corydon, IN.
Join the Durbins and the Burkes for a fun filled night of running, walking, and socializing.

There are 3 Run Under The Stars events for 2017. The others are in Oak Ridge, TN, on May 27/28; and Paducah, KY, on June 11/12.

Race Format

RUN UNDER THE STARS 10 HOUR ENDURANCE RUN at the Harrison County Fairgrounds in Corydon IN
This is a night time run. Run, jog, walk, rest, stop and start as much as you'd like.
The objective is to see how far you can go; You can stop at any time if you've reached your goal or if you've had enough.

HIGHLIGHTS:
CHIP TIMING SYSTEM will keep your distance recorded. We will display your distance continually at the timing tent. Check the monitor.
No traffic, no hills, no roots, no hard running surface.
NO HOT SUN BEATING DOWN ON YOU.
This could possibly be the course you'll set a personal best for whatever distance you run.
On Site Parking, right on the grass infield. br />No hotel needed. Campers are welcome). You can set up a tent under the large shade trees in the grass infield. You can use your car. There is plenty of room. This is a good one to bring the family to. You can stop and see them as much as you like. (and they can run or walk an occasional lap with you, just for fun)

ENTRY LIMITS:
200 individual runners; and 10 relay teams. This is a wide track with plenty of room so we should be able to take care of everyone.

Night running practice?

Many of you have 100 mile or 24 hour events scheduled, and you don't have a good place to practice running at night; especially females worried about some idiot grabbing you in the dark. RUTS events give you the perfect training place. Secure, surrounded by other runners, and with everything you need at hand.

Relay Teams

A team will consist of 2 or 4 members. Each member of the team will receive their own race bib with timing chip. Each team will also receive a race bib with chip (attached to a quick change belt) for the Team. Members must exchange the timing chip and belt to whichever member is accumulating mileage for the team; meaning this person will have their personal bib on PLUS the team bib. It is permissible that team members run for their own personal mileage when they are not running for the team, but only the person who is wearing the Team bib counts towards the total. Team members may run as much or little as they want, and in whichever order they please. In fact, one or two runners can run 90% of the distance if that's what the team wants. NOTE: relay runners are not eligible for individual awards (most mileage)

Packet Pick Up & set up: Beginning at 4PM
Final Instructions: 7:50 PM
Race Start: 8 PM
Race Finish: 6 AM July 9.

Food, Fluids, Rest rooms, Showers

A large station will be set up right on the track.
Each runner may supply their own water bottle (please mark your name on it) and tables will be available to place your bottle. (This should greatly reduce the number of paper cups needed).
S.W.O.R.D. hydration drink is the exclusive hydration drink of Run Under The Stars. Water, soda, Cookies, Pretzels, M&Ms, watermelon, bananas, and other food items will be available.
As the night goes on we'll bring in pizza, and we'll have coffee available.
Rest room with running water is available each lap..
DROP BAGS: You can have whatever you want at your site either in the infield, grandstands, or at your car. NOTE: IF YOU LEAVE THE TRACK, YOU MUST RE-ENTER AT THE SAME SPOT YOU EXITED WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE REST ROOM AT TURN 2.
SHOWER is available in the rest room. Please bring your own towel, and body wash.

Amenities and Awards

Individual runners receive the following: Tank Top Shirt; Drawstring Backpack; Running cap; Finisher's Award with a space reserved for you to enter your total distance.

Relay Team members each receive the shirt, drawstring backpack, cap, and finisher's award. NOTE: relay members are not eligible for TOP 5 Individual awards, however your individual mileage will be shown in the results.
AWARDS
The TOP 5 m/f and relay teams will receive a TOP 5 Medal.
