Overview
**Email the RD at seanranney@gmail.com to get on the waiting list, everybody who has ever been on the waiting list has gotten in**
25 and 50 mile fatass style run along the wild and Scenic North Fork of the American River. Expect roughly 10,000' of climbing for the 25 mile and 20,000' for the 50, with a good amount of bushwhacking and route finding thrown in for good measure. Free to enter, but the rule is that you have to wait at the finish for at least one runner to come in.
The forest service has confirmed that we don't need a permit as long as we keep it small, so registration for both distances combined will be limited to 50 people. Since portions are off trail, I'm not going to post the map until the week before the event, but it will start and finish at the Shirttail Creek Campground near Foresthill, CA and go up and down out of the canyon using Euchre Bar, Pioneer Mine, Ebeneezer's highway, Green Valley, Mumford Bar, and Italian Bar. There will be one location for drop bags and crew to meet you that you will pass through twice.
Don't kid yourself, this is a hard, hard run. Last year's finishers took 14 hours for the 25, and 25 hours for the 50. Distances are approximate, and may refer to nautical miles.
Ultrasignup is gracious enough to host fatass events for no cost, but unfortunately the waitlist does not set up for free events. If the event is full, email the RD to get on the waitlist. Everybody who has ever been on the waitlist has gotten in. We have a group campsite for Friday and Saturday night.
