2018 Training Program!
Please join us for the 25th season of UltraLadies. We are primarily a women's training group, but we also welcome UltraLadies'Men and have experience in coaching a wide array of athletes, race distances, terrains and altitudes.
Whether you are training for your first trail race or are a veteran who wants to better your performance, we are here to guide, coach and celebrate your hard work and success.

What We Specialize In...
We specialize in training new ultra runners to finish their first ultra marathon! Many participants in our program have gone on to complete 50-mile and 100-mile endurance races. Our long runs, tempo runs and races are aligned perfectly to help you meet your goals. When you run with us you will tap our knowledge and gain confidence about ultra running and you will come back every year because like trails are constantly changing, so is your desire for new challenges, longer distances, different terrains and higher altitudes and UltraLadies can help you get there!
Our training program consists of bi-weekly group long runs and group tempo runs, and Ultra Ladies Coaching Clinics.
Our long runs will be held at different trailheads in the Santa Monica Mountains and many of our trainings runs will be on actual race courses. You will have the advantage of knowing the courses very well.
Our tempo runs will meet bi-weekly on Thursdays, at 6:30pm.
We have combined 30 years of experience behind us. Since 1994, Ultra-Mama, Nancy Shura-Dervin, has been training and coaching ultra athletes to their first 50K, 50-Mile and 100-Mile races. Jennifer Davis has been an Ultra Runner and member of Ultra Ladies since 2011 and joined Nancy in 2017 as Lead Mentor of our training runs. Our UltraLadies Mentors are experienced 50K to 100-Mile runners who will run the trails with you and share tricks of the trade to make your experience safe and enjoyable.

Meet Your Coaches
Founder/Owner of UltraLadies
Nancy began ultra marathon running in 1990 and has finished more than 100 races of distances from the marathon to 100+ miles. Nancy founded the UltraLadies in 1994 to develop a group of women to train together on remote mountain trails. In 2003, Nancy became the first person documented to qualify for and complete the two most prestigious foot races in the world, in the same year; the Boston Marathon and the Badwater 135 Mile Ultra Marathon. Nancy holds a CA nursing license where her career as a groundbreaking educator, coach and motivational speaker in the field of natural childbirth translated perfectly to helping runners combine physical, mental and emotional strategies to complete ultra marathons. Nancy is also owner/race director of Trail Run Events, LLC with a stellar reputation for bringing the very best trail running experiences to Southern California runners.
Ultra Ladies Event Director and Lead Mentor
Jennifer joined the Ultra Ladies in 2011 as a newbie and progressed through the seasons as a regular Ultra Ladies member. Whatever doubts, nerves or fears you may experience, you can be sure Jennifer has been there. Jennifer has finished numerous ultra marathons including five 100-mile endurance runs.
What is the Cost?
The cost depends on which program you select and how ambitious you feel!
SPRING/SUMMER TRAINING (train for the 50k): $300.00
This session goes from April 7 to August 25 and includes 21 scheduled meet-ups for long runs, tempo runs, **races and clinics. Your training will culminate with running the **Bulldog 50K on August 25! **Additional fee for race registration.
SUMMER/FALL TRAINING (train for the 50k): $300.00
This session goes from July 28 to December 15 and includes 36 scheduled meet-ups for long runs, tempo runs, **races and clinics. Your training will culminate with running Paramount 50K on December 15! **Additional fee for race registration.
ANNUAL TRAINING (train for the 50M): $450.00
This session goes from April 7 to December 1 and includes 30 scheduled meet-ups for long runs, tempo runs, **races and two clinics. Your training will culminate with running Ray Miller 50-Mile on December 1. **Additional fee for race registration.

Individualized coaching and personalized training plans are available for an additional fee from Nancy Shura-Dervin. Nancy is an RRCA Certified Running Coach and veteran of more than 100 marathons and ultra-marathons including Boston Marathon and the official Badwater 135-Mile Ultra Marathon from Death Valley to Mount Whitney. UltraLadies Coaching is not just for ladies or for elites; it will benefit any runner who is serious about setting and meeting goals!
