2017 Spring Training Program!
Please join us for the 24th season of UltraLadies Training Program. We are happy to introduce an elevated program for the 2017 season to help you reach your ultra running goals. We are primarily a women's training group, but we also welcome UltraLadies'Men and have experience in coaching a wide array of athletes, race distances, terrains and altitudes.
Whether you are training for your first trail race or are a veteran who wants to better your performance, we are here to guide, coach and celebrate your hard work and successes.

What We Specialize In...
We specialize in coaching new ultra runners to finish the Bulldog 50K in August. Many participants in our program have gone on to complete 50-mile and 100-mile endurance races. Our long runs, tempo runs and races are aligned perfectly to help you meet your goals. You’ll start with us because you want to tap our knowledge and gain confidence about ultra running, but you’ll stay with us every year because like trails are constantly changing, so is your desire for new challenges, longer distances, different terrains and higher altitudes and UltraLadies can help you get there!

Why Choose UltraLadies?
We have combined 30 years of experience behind us. Since 1994, Ultra-Mama, Nancy Shura-Dervin, has been training and coaching ultra athletes to their first 50K, 50-Mile and 100-Mile races. Cyndi Wyatt has been an Ultra Runner since 2009 and joined Nancy in 2017, after successfully implementing REI’s Run Club in Los Angeles and spending a few years as the Summer Coordinator for the Santa Monica Mountain Goat Run Club. Our UltraLadies Ambassadors are team mentors who are experienced 50K to 100-Mile runners who will run the trails with you and share tricks of the trade to make your experience safe and enjoyable.
UltraLadies Spring Training Schedule
Our first training day is Saturday, April 8th and will run through the infamous Bulldog 25K racecourse in beautiful Malibu Creek State Park.
Our training program consists of bi-weekly group long runs, bi-weekly group tempo runs, Ultra Running 101 coaching clinics, and at least one overnight “Run/Camp/Run” retreat (*additional fees apply).
Our long runs will be held every other Saturday morning at different trailheads in the Santa Monica Mountains and many of our trainings runs will be on our actual race courses. You will have the advantage of knowing the courses very well.
Our tempo runs will meet bi-weekly on Wednesdays at Griffith Park, at 6:30pm.

Meet Your Coaches
Founder/Owner of UltraLadies
Nancy has been a long distance runner since 1990 and has finished more than 100 races of distances from the marathon to 100+ miles. Nancy founded the UltraLadies in 1994 to develop a group of women to train together on remote mountain trails. In 2003, Nancy became the first person documented to qualify for and complete the two most prestigious foot races in the world, in the same year; the Boston Marathon and the Badwater 135 Mile Ultra Marathon. Nancy holds a CA nursing license where her career as a groundbreaking educator, coach and motivational speaker in the field of natural childbirth translated perfectly to helping runners combine physical, mental and emotional strategies to complete ultra marathons. Nancy is also owner/race director of Trail Run Events, LLC with a stellar reputation for bringing the very best trail running experiences to Southern California runners.
Ultra Ladies Event Director
With a mantra of “Engage, Exert, Evolve”; Engage in Mother Nature, Exert yourself physically, and Evolve into a peaceful, complete, powerful being, Cyndi Wyatt intends to leave a legacy to women of empowerment in the outdoors. She has experienced the healing and strengthening powers the trails so freely give and devotes her life to sharing, teaching and celebrating the outdoors with others. Married to Elite Runner, Ricardo Ramirez (at the top of Mt. Whitney) and mother of Yasmine, Ely and Paris, Cyndi is an accomplished Ultra Runner with six Mountain 100 Mile finishes (four in the top ten), Outdoor Field Instructor for REI who developed two successful programs (REI Run Club and Endurance Hiking), Trail Run Ambassador for REI, and Sales Lead REI retail. Cyndi says "I started running for the physical benefits, but made it my lifestyle and career because of our awesome community. I look forward to sharing the trails with our Ultra Ladies and UltraLadies’Men”.
Individualized coaching and personalized training plan building is available for an additional fee from Nancy Shura-Dervin. Nancy is an RRCA Certified Running Coach and veteran of more than 100 marathons and ultra-marathons including Boston Marathon and the official Badwater 135-Mile Ultra Marathon from Death Valley to Mount Whitney.
