About the event
The Rick O'Donnell 5.22 Mile Trail Run and 8-hour Ultra Challenge, held in beautiful Greenbrier State Park, Boonsboro, MD, is ideal for your first trail race, timed event or ultra-distance goal.
The 5.22 mile loop starts and finishes along the sandy shores of Greenbrier Lake with 750 feet of climb and descent on each loop. The majority of the course is single track, with about half a mile of pavement per loop. Participants wishing to complete just one loop will register for the 5.22 Mile Trail Run. Ultra Challenge registrants will be running as many loops as possible within 8 hours. Those who run 6 loops within the time allotted will have met the "Ultra Challenge" and will have earned unlimited bragging rights! Speedsters, 9 loops is the current record, but who will be the first to complete 10 loops? After you've called it a day, hot, clean showers, and indoor bathrooms lie just steps from the finish line in one of the prettiest state parks in Maryland! Bring the family to the beach while you're running in the woods-a perfect day for the entire family (sorry, you must leave your four-legged family members at home - the event has a no-dogs policy).
Each participant in either run will receive a gender-specific event tee shirt. They're in the design process now, but promise to be comfortable and awesome looking!
Park Entry Fees
Rick's Run participants won't have to pay the park entry fee on the morning of the event. Entry fees have been rolled into your registration fees and we will be reimbursing the park after the event. Each participant will receive an email with a .pdf file of a parking pass the week of the event which is to be printed out and displayed on their vehicle's dashboard.
