The history behind these races is immense with FlatRock being the first and oldest trail ultra in Kansas!! Epic races such as the 2017 flood year have become the stuff of legend and lore! This is a must run trail. Come see this unique aspect of Kansas like you have never experienced it!
Beginning in 2022, the FlatRock Fall races will feature distances of 101 mile, 101K, 50K, 25K, and 12K. There will not be a spring race or a triple crown series.
The course consists of a 50K loop which is run twice for the 101K and will be run three times plus an additional out and back along the same course to reach the 101 mile distance. There will be a 36 hour cut-off for all race distances. For the 101 mile, you must begin the third loop by 24 hours and the partial loop prior to 33 hours. Drop downs will be allowed to receive a medal for the longest distance completed subject to availability. The 101 mile finishers will receive an 8 inch buckle!!!
A technical, mostly single-track, out and back along the Elk River Hiking Trail. Accurately measured forest trail winding through unique limestone bluffs, rock formations & picturesque vistas.
Race headquarters will be located in the Outlet Channel Group Shelter (north side of the Elk City Lake dam). Packet pick-up Saturday morning from 6-8 AM. If you have never been to FlatRock before we highly recommend allowing a little extra drive time, especially if you plan on driving in the morning of the race. Along with a T-shirt and the normal fun of volunteering, we would like to do more. It takes a community to put on quality races, but volunteers also need to be appreciated. The program will be as follows: Shifts are in 4-8 hour increments and you must sign up. If you volunteer for one shift at any of our races you will get 25% off registration for any of our future races. Distance is not a factor. So 4 shifts will be a free race.
If you are currently active duty Military or a Veteran, we'd like to give our thanks by extending a 10% discount for your entry fee. Please message us at Outlaw 100 for the coupon code.
You may defer (for any reason) to any of our subsequent races. Prior to registration closing, you can defer by editing your race in ultrasignup. Cancel the race and it will give you a credit to any other Outlaw event. Once registration closes, you may defer up until the Wednesday prior to the race. There will be no deferments after the race has occurred.
We do not allow transfers.
Cancellation will only be in the event of extreme circumstances (inclement weather; local, state, or national emergency) and is at the race directors discretion. If for any reason the event has to be shut down due to extreme weather, natural disaster, etc… you will be pulled from the course or held at an aid station until you can be removed from the course. Please, no arguing if this should happen. It is for your own safety. If the race has to be cancelled, no refunds will be issued.
Under no circumstance will refunds be issued.
