Race Shirt Clutoff - Sept 16th

IF you want a Blood Rock Race Shirt you "MUST" REGISTER ON OR BEFORE SUNDAY SEPT 16TH"
The shirt order absolutely must go in on the 17th. Please register early to insure you get one. These shirts are really cool! not to mention you will avoid the Late Registration Price Increase.

THERE WILL BE NO LATE REGISTRATION

Please register online on or before September 26th. There will be no late registration at packet pickup Friday or before the race Saturday. You may also send in the printable registration for but we must receive it by Wednesday, Sept 26th.

Weekend Schedule

Friday, Sept 28th – 3:00 to 6:00 PM: Packet Pickup well be held at the Cabins, Start/Finish location on Cabin Road at Oak Mountain State Park. (GPS Coordinates 33.350248, -86.719186) We will email a Blood Rock Car Pass that you will need to print and place on your dash. It will allow you enter the park Friday Night for the meeting and not be charged. The pass must also be displayed on your dash at all times while in the park Saturday and Sunday. There will be NO Late Registration Friday night or Saturday Morning.

Friday, Sept 28th – 4:30 PM: Short Pre-Race Briefing at the Tranquility Meeting Center or The Gazebo by the lake at the cabins, depending on the weather.

Saturday, Sept 29th – 5:15 to 6:15 AM: Packet Pickup and Runner Check-in. (All runners MUST Check-in or be considered DNS)
Runners must enter the park thorough the South Gate near I-65 Saturday Morning.
Race Packets may be picked up at the Meeting Center in the Cabins, location of the start and finish. There will be NO Late Registration Saturday Morning. The fee to enter Oak Mtn State Park is $5 per person. Please try to have correct change at the gate. Credit cards are not accepted but there is an ATM at the entrance.

Saturday, Sept 29th – 5:15 to 6:15 AM: Packet Pickup and Runner Check-in for 25 and 50K Races.
FAILURE TO CHECK-IN SATURDAY MORNING WILL RESULT IN A DNS.

Saturday, Sept 29th – 6:30 AM: Start of the 25K and 50K Races.

Blood Rock 25 and 50K

Blood Rock 25 and 50K: are the final race in the 2018 Mountain High Outfitters Southeastern Trail Series. The races will take place at Oak Mountain State Park, starting at Cabins on Tranquility Lake. Both races will start at 6:30 AM. (Sunrise on the 29th is 6:40 AM and sunset is 6:36 PM.)

The Blood Rock 25K; Course is a single loop through the "Backcountry" of Oak Mountain State Park. The course will be the same as the 2017 race. The end of the 25K is at the Cabins Aid Station.

The 50K Course: The 50K will be a single loop course circling most of the park. The course will be almost the same as 2017 race route. 50K runners will first run the "Backcountry" section before returning to the Cabins Aid Station. Next, they will climb Double Oak Mountain on the way to the Terrace Aid Station located in the large field across Terrace Drive from the Dogwood Pavilion. After Terrace AS, runners will turn around and go back exactly the same way they came down to the aid station. There will be two way traffic on a little over a mile of trail. At the gravel fire road near the crest of the mountain, continue straight ahead on the Green Trail toward Peavine Falls. Return to the Finish along the Ridge of Double Oak Mountain on the Blue Trail. Aid Stations will range between 3 miles and 7 miles. Course map is located on the Website.

Refunds and Credits

We offer full refunds available through Ultrasignup up to 30 days before the race. You may also roll your entry over until the next year. After that date we simply cannot give refunds. You may contact us directly and we will be happy to rollover your entry until the next year or give you full credit that can be applied to any STR race in the next year. Please contact us at the latest, two or three days before the race if you will not be able to make the race and would like a credit.

In the event the race must be cancelled due to conditions beyond our control, (forest fires or park closure are the most likely potential cause of cancellation of our races at OMSP) we will give a full refund up to 30 days prior to the event. After that, your entry will automatically be rolled over to the next year.
