Course

The Laurel Mill Trail was designed specifically for cross-country skiing and hiking. The trail is a series of interconnected loops and is mostly rolling hills. 100% of the race course will be on forest trails, but the trails are not real technical. A good course for beginner trail runners, but challenging enough to keep it interesting for those hard-core trail runners. The surface is dirt, gravel, rocks, sticks, leaves, mud, grass and maybe even a few tree branches. Watch out for the bears, skunks, and ticks! 14K runners will run two laps of the 7K course. Total elevation gain is approximately 350 feet on the 7K course. The course includes a 1 mile steady hill climb. The 2 mile fun walk is non-competitive and follows the 7K course for a while, then takes a connector trail "short cut" before returning to the same course the runners will be using. Start and finish line are at the trailhead pavilion. Race day registration begins at 7:30AM and ends at 8:50AM at the trailhead pavilion.
