Important Registration Information
- February 1, 2027: Early registration pricing ends.
- May 15, 2027: Last day to register to be guaranteed a custom race T-shirt.
- Kids Race registration does not include a T-shirt.
- All prices are in Canadian dollars and do not include applicable taxes or UltraSignup processing fees.

Kids Race
Slay the Baby Dragon — 2.5ish km Kids Race
Little Dragons. Big Adventures.
Every dragon has to start somewhere!
Slay the Baby Dragon is our fun-filled 2.5ish km out-and-back trail race designed especially for children ages 0–12.
Taking place on the scenic Cross Mountain Trail at SilverStar Mountain Resort, this event gives our youngest trail runners a chance to experience the excitement of race day, complete with their very own start line, finish line, race bib, and cheering crowd!
The course features gentle climbs and descents, with a dedicated race marshal stationed at the turnaround to help guide our little dragons safely along the route.
While the event is timed, this race is all about participation, confidence, and having FUN! No pressure, no expectations, just happy kids discovering what their little legs can do.

Parents: Participation alongside younger children is strongly encouraged. We want everyone to feel safe, supported, and confident out on the trails.

Vertical Climb
Dragon King & Queen Vertical Climb
No Switchbacks. No Mercy. Just UP!
Think you've got what it takes to conquer the mountain?
Welcome to the Dragon King & Queen Vertical Climb, a short, steep, lung-burning challenge that takes you straight up the Comet Express ski slope at SilverStar Mountain Resort.
No winding singletrack. No gentle switchbacks. No easy way out.
Just you, the mountain, and approximately 480 metres of vertical gain.
You'll power your way up open ski terrain, battling gravity, burning legs, and that little voice in your head asking why you thought this was a good idea.
The mountain isn't going to make it easy. But reaching the top? That's going to feel pretty darn good!
The Challenge
- Date: Sunday, June 27, 2027
- Race Start: 9:00 AM
- Distance: Approximately 1.4 miles (2.25 km)
- Elevation Gain: 480 metres
- Terrain: Open ski slope, steep grassy climbing
- Difficulty: Brutal, in the best possible way!
- Entry Fee: $20 CAD
Race Morning
All participants must meet at the SilverStar Gondola at 8:30 AM to be guided down to the official start area.
Race starts at 9:00 AM sharp.

Welcome to Slay the Dragon, where challenging mountain trails, incredible views, and one heck of a trail running community come together for an unforgettable race weekend.
Located at beautiful SilverStar Mountain Resort, just a short drive from Vernon, British Columbia, Slay the Dragon has earned its reputation as one of Canada's must-do trail running experiences.
And in 2027, we're celebrating our 10th Anniversary!
Whether you're tackling the 13.6 km, 25 km, or 50 km distance, you'll experience a little bit of everything that makes mountain trail running so darn addictive.
Expect technical single-track, flowing forest trails, lung-burning climbs, long thigh-shredding descents, and spectacular mountain scenery.
Our courses are designed by trail runners, for trail runners. We know what makes a great race, and we put everything we've got into delivering one.
