About the event
The ALS 12 Hour Trail Race/Relay and 5 Mile Race will again be held at Northampton Park in Spencerport, NY. The race will be on mostly single track and is an approximate 2.5 mile loop with approximately 105 ft. of elevation gain per loop. The Relay runners will do the runner exchange at the completion of each loop. The race aid station will be located at the Start/Finish, but runners can set up their own aid station at the Start/Finish only. Solo runners will also be able to have their own aid station at the Start/Finish.
The 12 Hour Race will begin at 7:30 AM and the 5 mile race will begin at 9:00 am.
This race is to help raise awareness for ALS and also to raise money for ALS research. The race will also be helping a local charity, Hearts for ALS NY. They help local patients who have ALS. My father Ray Luther passed from ALS in 2012 and this race is in his memory.
The 5 Mile Race will start after the 12 Hour race has begun. This will be run on the same course, but may have some different turns.
Restrooms will be available to all.
You may change your race distance at any time before May 12, 2018 via Ultrasignup now. Moving up a distance or changing to a relay will require an additional payment. There will be no refund for dropping from the 12 Hour Solo to the 5 Mile race. Going from a 4 person to a 2 person relay will be a 50% refund of the difference between the entrants fees.
We encourage that you have a commitment from your teammates prior to registration.
Things come up so De-Feet ALS will provide withdrawal refunds on the following schedule;
- before May 12, 2018 – 50% refund
- No refunds for withdrawals after May 12th.
NOTE: Refunds will only be for the race entrance fee; refunds will not include the Ultra Signup administration fee.
Awards will be given to the overall male and female finishers in the 12 hour solo race and 5 mile race. Overall team winners will be awarded to the 2 person and 4 person relays.
The 5 mile race awards will be given out at 11:00 am.
12 Hour race awards will be given out at 8:00 pm.
Like the past two years, water bottles must be used. There will be no cups provided for water, but water will be available.
Nutrition will be available, but we know a lot of you like to bring your own concoctions. Please be aware that you must keep your aid station clean and what you bring in leaves with you.
We will have Packet Pickup the morning of the race. If you anticipate a huge dilemma, email me firstname.lastname@example.org
