Liminality: (Def)
From the Latin word limens, which means, "threshold." It is when you have left the tried and true, but have not yet been able to replace it with anything else. It is when you are between your old comfort zone and your new one.
This occurs during the second stage of a Rite of Passage where your decisions dictate who you will become.
This feeling is experienced by both new runners and vets as they simply try something new.

Intro
International Trails Day falls on the 6th of June this year. However, we're holding off until the end of the month (June 27th) for this year's edition. To celebrate, we are kicking off another edition that will hopefully inspire runners to continue challenging themselves while enjoying the outdoors!
All races will will be exclusively on trails (well, 0.3mi of an 8.6mi loop is road).
A New Concept to Newfoundland
This Race will consist of Timed Laps with a 'Last One Standing' setup. Trail Running Pace is quite Slower than Road Running Pace so please do not compare the two!
The 8.6mi Loop will be attempted both CCW as well as the CW Loop. Participants will have 2 hours to complete the 8.6mi Loop before the clock resets as well as the direction.
Some runners will find themselves back at the loop finish well in advance of the 2-hour cut-off time. This is fine, however they are not permitted to attempt the next loop until the 2 hours has elapsed. At this time, all returning runners will then be eligible to attempt the next loop. Racers who fail to cross the finish line within the 2 hour limit will be eliminated from the race when/if they return.
The winner(s) of the Liminality Endurance Race will be the last Male and Female to complete a lap.
Pacers are not permitted
Results will be determined by order of completed laps to determine the top 10 Male and top 10 Female, all of who will get a free entry into the following year.
Only interested in a smaller distance?
Looking for the the 4mi?8mi?16mi?50k?50mi?
If you are interested in any of those distances, that's fine! Stop when you feel accomplished! There are medals, but no awards for these distances as in years passed.
Aim for a PB and challenge yourself!
After 8 hours
After 8 hours, the upper loop is closed and participants will only run the lower loop in 1 hour intervals.
River Crossing
A river crossing will be integrated into the route. You can choose not to get your feet wet by taking an extended detour (~500m).
10pm Running Race
A 2-for-1 deal. All participants are eligible to compete in a 4mi Night Race.
This will Begin at the Loop Restart approx 10pm. The Route will be the Lower Section of the Liminality Route. Details and Prizes to follow.
Event's current local time: 1:13 PM NT
