ABOUT THE RACE
The Moose Mountain Trail Races (MMTR), hosted by Lewiston Ultra Events, is Alberta’s oldest sanctioned trail race, offering 16KM, 29KM, 42KM, and 50KM solo mountain trail distances. This iconic event takes place on one of the original trail systems within the Kananaskis Country park system and has become a cornerstone of the trail running community.
Starting and finishing at the West Bragg Creek recreational day-use area, the course ascends from the rolling prairie into the foothills, where over 150KM of beautifully crafted, community-built trails await. Runners will experience an incredible journey along forested single and double-track trails, with the 8,000-foot Moose Mountain, the highest peak in the range, as their stunning backdrop.
This grassroots trail event has been a cherished part of the running community for over three decades. It’s more than a race—it’s a celebration of history, tradition, and the extraordinary community that comes together to cheer on every runner.
Lewiston Ultra Events is honoured to carry on the legacy of the Moose Mountain Trail Races, a tradition that began in 1992.
REGISTRATION
All distances will be $160 CDN (+GST & UltraSignup fee).
Participants must be 18 years of age or older on race day.
*AMEX (AMERICAN EXPRESS & DISCOVERY) cards are not accepted methods of payment.
Lewiston Ultra Events does not offer refunds and there is no waitlist.
BIB TRANSFERS:
Bibs can be transferred to any distance except for the 50KM event.
You must have a 50KM bib to participate in the 50KM distance. However, 50KM bib holders may transfer into another distance.

If you’re looking for a bib or hoping to transfer yours, please email kara@thelewistonultra.com
We’ll connect you with others looking to buy or sell a bib and provide full transfer instructions.
DISTANCE TRANFER:
To complete a distance transfer, please email kara@thelewistonultra.com with your name and the distance you’d like to transfer to. Please note, transfers into the 50KM event are not permitted, however, 50KM racers may transfer down to a shorter distance.
TRANSFER DEADLINE:
Registration & distance transfers are permitted until 8:00 AM on August 9, 2027, for a $20 administration fee.
There are no transfers after 8:00 AM on August 9, 2027 — no exceptions.
