What does MFAMTL mean to you?
Welcome to the MFAMTLFNLF. My name is Michael Valone. I am the race organizer of the MFAMTL series. So what exactly is this? MFAMTL stands for Maybe the First Annual Maybe the Last. I wondered if there would be an audience for a timed loop event that I could organize on the fly. Sixty souls braved the winter cold and ensured a second, and third official version. I kept the name as a reminder that I had planned on doing this only once. See how well that went? Now I have designed a five mile loop (Friday Night Lights Five) that will prove to be a challenging end of spring race. In true MFAMTL fashion you will be provided with an interesting course at a low cost. Use this race as primer and springboard for your longer summer efforts. See you at the MFAMTL!!!!!!
THIS IS A FIVE MILE EVENING RACE
******THIS IS AN EVENING RACE***** That being said you will be expected to be able to complete a five mile hilly course in two and a half hours. Sunset is at 8:37 pm. I want all of us to make it back in time in the daylight to enjoy each others company!
REFUNDS AND WAITLIST
Unfortunately due to the pre - planning and low cost associated with MFAMTL events, I cannot offer a refund. Thank you for understanding. When the race fills up you can be added to the waitlist. You will be notified if somebody drops out so you can register.
Durand Eastman Park Course and Parking
How much elevation can we get in five miles? Enough believe me. This will be a real treat for me to show you one of the true gems in our park system. We will hit all the major hills, both famous and soon-to-be famous. PARKING will be in the lots off of Lakeshore Boulevard so we can avoid parking on park roads. I have reserved the Acorn shelter on Log Cabin Road as our Race HQ.
