1st-12 Hours: Famine

Famine

1st 12 hours last man standing progressive

(set start distance ? average course increase ? 1 hour challenge must be off course in one hour, )
must be on course when horn sounds on the hour.
After first hour course moves outward by some increment.
At the start of the 6th lap all left standing must put on their ruck weighed in at 20#.
The trail will be moved back to original start distance for the sixth lap.
Every hour distances and 5# weight shall be added.
If there is more than one left standing at the start of the twelfth hour they will be given a final challenge. They must return in one hour.
The first to return will be called the last man standing,
the winner shall be given an extra 1000 points. Yet all finishers of the twelfth lap will garner the 5000 points for that lap.
Even if you don't make the second loop, we will keep you entertained, and scraping by. Never fear. You can jump back in at anytime after the next hour, after your failure to start the next distance, has gone off. But as in all famine situations, you will only garner a third of the points for any lap you do. And you may not participate in the final twelfth hour lap. All the same rules apply to your points. ( example: let's say you failed at the fifth lap? You have to sit out the sixth lap.)

2nd-12 Hours: War

2nd 12 hours progressive land navigation courses.

I would say four series of six waypoints each. Color coded as per difficulty. You must complete each series to move on to the next. The maps are distributed randomly for each athlete. Winner will be the one who completes in the fastest time, or the one who has completed all four courses in fastest time, or the one that has finished with the most waypoint tags, before time expires.
Waypoints are variable by distances and difficulty, each Map will have six waypoint each waypoint bag will have the chips in it and will tell you the amount of points earned. From 200 to 2000, for each map. You will not know the point amount for each bag prior to finding them. You may only pick up one chip at each waypoint. But that should go without saying. The four course being randomly handed out each time. As in War, there is strategy, and there is also gain for sound strategies.
None of the bags will have enough chips in them, all bags will be ten short of participants. You may come upon a bag where all the chips are gone. Cie La Guerre.
Every three hours you may turn in the chips and retrieve another map. Those chip points are yours now, almost nothing can take them away. Even if you failed to find each waypoint. Whatever the amount you found can be turned in after every three hours.
If you turn in a completed map prior to the three hour segment, you can retrieve another map. And you will receive a 1000 point bonus, each time you complete a map in under three hours.
By some ungodly force of luck, you have completed all four courses, having found all six points, prior to twelve hours, you may go out to any and all bags and pick up one more chip. Mind you the bags could be empty. You also must make it back before the timer runs out, to turn in your chips.

Rules!

Rules will be explained in detail at check-in and throughout the race. If you have questions ASK!!!!

The only rule we'll explain ahead of time is cheating! If any Race Director, staff or volunteer suggests you have cheated, it will be a automatic DQ. Final word! If another racer suggests there has been cheating, we will investigate to the best of our ability, and then pass judgement. Which will also be final. Play fair, follow the rules. Do not cheat yourself from an amazing experience.

3rd-12 Hours: Conquest

Conquest

3rd 12 hours

hill climb three set courses of hill climb, most miles in twelve hours.

Out and back courses, easy right? just keep going. Each one of the courses comes with an extra point challenge, to be seen. You don't have to do any of the extra challenges.
But it could be helpful. Maybe ?!?!

The challenges only add to your overall points, they don't add miles to your hill climb or elevation, oh see there is something else, elevation. Each course has a specific elevation gain. You may want to mix it up a bit.

More Details;

As the most elevation, also garners points. We will know the elevation of each trail.

This is the most straightforward part of the event. Miles and elevation, plus challenges equal points, brute force, just go up and down. For 12 hours.
Each lap completed is 200 points regardless of which path you choose.
The elevation gain will be on the chip they get at the top of each course, the amount is a direct point amount, they correlate. If the chip say 365 the points are 365 per lap for that course. If they choose to stay on just that one course. They will never know the other elevation gain.
If they choose to take a challenge here each challenge is worth a set amount. Let's say 400 points.
The only way to lose points here is to not make the last lap in time. All other points count and all elevation and challenges.

4th-12 Hours: Death

Death

4th and final 12 hours Death March because on a pale horse he rides. Twenty four mile out and back, river crossings, whatever is out there you are going to experience.

Here is the trick, you must be back before the timer runs out. So you must know how far you've and how long it's going to take you to get back.
Every three miles there will be a way station where you will be given a chip. That is your official distance.
In between each way station will be a unmanned Point. If you make it that far there will be a word. You must remember. It will give you 1.5 more miles than your official mileage. When you / if you make it back before the timer reaches zero, your mileage will be doubled.
If you reach the final outpost at 24 miles you will be given a special chip. This chip will add one hour to your allotted time. Again you must make it back before time runs out to garner the full points for this section.
If you do not make it back in time. Your total points will begin to be reduced. Every five minutes you will lose x amount of accumulated points from your overall score. You will only garner the points for the mileage out you did when you cross the line. ( Example: Don has 3500 points out of a possible total so far of 12000, in this challenge he could get another 5800 potential points, Don decides to go for broke and heads out. He goes out for 5 hours, has made it to way station 15 miles, says ok I am going to try for another 1.5 miles. Set off finds the next 1 mile is straight up. It takes him 1.5 hours to get back to way station 15 miles. Don now has 5.5 hours to make it back to basecamp. He starts back with 16.5 miles in his pocket, if he makes it back before the timer runs out. Timer runs out and no Don, Every five minutes Don doesn't appear it costs him 50 points. Don finally gets back 1 hour late. That has cost him 12x50 =600, Dons total is now 2900 points total. Because Don was late, his mileage total is not doubled, so he only gains 16.5 miles of points. It's brutal I know !!!! If the total points for this were 5800 points, for going all the way out to turn around outpost and making it back in time. Dons points are only 1650 total, finishing Don with 4550 points for the whole experience. Don should really start training. )
There will be a ruck bonus challenge, we will weigh your ruck at the beginning for every pound over 5#, you will garner a extra 5 points per mile. Even if you do not finish in time the extra 5 points per mile is yours.
