2019 Red Bridge Marathon Course

The inaugural marathon will be one you wont want to miss! 26.2 mile of beautiful trail in the Manistee National Forest. The course starts at a camp ground known as Sawdust hole and runs north on the North Country Trail for 16mi. Over the course of those 16mi you will encounter long climbs and long downhill grades along the high bank of the Manistee River. The course then crosses the River on a foot suspension bridge and heads south on the Manistee River Trail. The remaining 10mi consists of short steep climbs and falls on the low bank of the river. The MRT side of the river is known for its beautiful vista views of the river and gorgeous small feeder streams like the one in our banner. All the beauty of the trail comes at a price, of physically challenging terrain. You will ascend 3000' and descend another 2500' for a total of 5500' of elevation change! This is no joke a very challenging run, but definitely worth training for.
