RUNNERS... DUE TO WEATHER CONDITIONS FORSYTH COUNTY PARKS AND REC DEPT HAS CANCELLED THE SAWNEE MOUNTAIN PRESERVE SPRING FESTIVAL ACTIVITIES (INCLUDING THE 3.1 MILE TRAIL RUN). Please Refer to the E-Mail I Sent Out to ALL Pre-Registered Runners.

We´re excited to present the 1st Annual Sawnee Mountain Preserve Spring Festival 3.1 Mile Trail Race at Sawnee Mountain (4075 Spot Road). Race will start / finish in the parking lot of the Sawnee Mountain Preserve Visitor Center.

Runners Registration is OPEN! Please Note: We will have a cap on this race of 100 Participants! We are placing a cap on this event for 1 reason... parking availability (it's a festival... lots of activities going on).

Packet pickup will be the morning of the race starting at 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. Race starts at 8:00 a.m. SHARP!

Race Course Info!

This is great single and double track off-road running experience. The race will start on the street (required for spacing) but will soon lead into the woods. The terrain is made up of a little bit of everything, rolling hills, steep hills, double track and technical sections (rocks). We will have 1 water station at approx. 2.3 miles. If you have never visited Sawnee Mountain Preserve – do it! The course is beautiful and offers something for every runner truly wishing to ´ditch the city´. Nestled in the woods of suburban Atlanta lies a true gem. Well groomed system of trails with gentle slopes and beautiful scenery will leave you breathless (if that doesn´t, the 3.1 miles will). Once you descend into the woods, you will forget your in the city. As a matter of fact, you will come to know why we follow the creed ´Ditch the City´..

Directions To The Park!

From Atlanta: Take Ga 400 North – Exit 17 (Keith Bridge Road) – Turn Left – Go 1 Mile - Turn Right Onto Hwy 9 – Go 1 Mile - Turn Left Onto Spot Road - Go 2 Miles – Sawnee Mountain Entrance On Your Left (Parking is at a premium… please carpool where possible).
