About

***2019 UPDATE: We are at full capacity and briefly opened the waitlist that also got filled fast with enough people to compensate for no-shows and drops. We cannot open the waitlist anymore because it will only create false hopes for those people and we don't want to do that. We would love to accept more participants but we are limited by park standards. We hope you understand. ***

This race started as fatass event -- no whining, no fees, no awards -- although we have definitely taken steps to elevate it into a formal race that everyone will enjoy. For this year, we will be charging a fee that will ALL go to the park for the maintenance of its trails and other programs.

This event is a well-marked, 4.5-ish mile looped course on trails in Jacobsburg State Park with one main Aid Station at start/finish of each loop.

This is an event perfect for those who are trying to fine tune their long distance race fueling and strategy; those who are new to trail running; those who need a training race; those gearing up for another timed, looped event; or those who just want to see how far their legs can carry them before they fall off. The course is on fairly easy trails but are not completely flat. Each loop has 413 ft of elevation gain, so do not expect to get your mountain running training out of this event, but do not expect to run your PR times here either. There’s just a bunch of bunny hills.
