Please come join us in the beautiful hills of Allegany County, NY. for the 1st annual Sunny Hill Campground 5K/10K walk/run race. Located in Allegany County which is in the southwestern part of New York State, along the Pennsylvania border. Come see where the picturesque countryside is interspersed with individually unique villages and hamlets set amidst a stunning landscape of rolling hills, deep valleys, and clear running streams. Weaving throughout is the historic Genesee River. Dense state and county forestlands and open fields beckon those who wish to experience the outdoors which highlights our spectacular scenery and abundant wildlife.
This year’s inaugural run will benefit two amazing local high school students and their quest to broaden their knowledge of the old world in Germany. These two very special local girls have been offered a great opportunity to travel to this country and experience things that young adults this age may never get to experience. Young women like this are the type of youth that anyone would want forming our future. All profits will go to them and the expense of this trip.
The course is that of rolling hills consisting of maintained trails. Choose the 5K walk/run for the novice runners or the walkers that want a new challenge with unbelievable views. Those who want a little more of a challenge, choose the 10K trail race with true Allegany County elevations of more than 900 feet of elevation.
Kick those heals and widen that stride for both these races, as the top female and male will fight for a $100 paycheck for their mud, sweat and tear efforts in both the 5K run and 10K run. All runners will receive handmade finisher medals for their hard work! After the race enjoy all the best amenities that Allegany County and Sunny Hill Campground can offer. August 3, 2019 from 8 am to 9:30 am at the Sunny Hill Lodge at Sunny Hill Campground
Race starts at 10:00 am. Race starts and Finishes at the Lodge.
