Have a great time while helping save lives! Join us for the 6th Annual Pinkathon San Francisco on Saturday, October 26, 2019. Distances are 50K, 26.2M, 13.1M, 10M, 10K, 5K, ADVENTURETHON (2HRS) and new this year is the Pink Ribbon Course (4-Miler), where Lenny Maughan will mark at trail with Pink Chalk in the shape of a pink ribbon! Registration is 100% FREE, but that's because we would rather you make a donation (perhaps what you might normally pay for race registration) to our official charity, the Breast Cancer Research Foundation - the top-rated Breast Cancer charity in the US. Our main website is at http://pinkathon.org. The Pinkathon San Francisco event starts and ends outside of the San Francisco Ferry Building by the Northwest Entrance at Gott's Roadside.
Because the Pinkathon happens on a Saturday, it coincides with the Farmers Market at the SF Ferry Building, which allows runners to have food & drinks before and after the run, including Peet's and Blue Bottle Coffee, bakeries and food stands, and $3 All-Day Parking (validation required) at the Golden Gateway Garage which opens at 7 AM.
Because the Pinkathon happens on a Saturday, it coincides with the Farmers Market at the SF Ferry Building, which has a plethora of vendors including breakfast goodies, Blue Bottle Coffee and Peets Coffee.
Official Charity-Breast Cancer Research Foundation BCRF
Registration for the Pinkathon San Francisco is FREE, but it is a FUNDRAISER for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation! Organizers Ellen & Lisa are breast cancer survivors and UNPAID volunteers! We take absolutely NO compensation from this event. YOUR DONATIONS are the ENTIRE REASON we do this. So we strongly encourage ALL participants to make donations directly to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, the top-rated Breast Cancer Charity in the USA. Distances & Timing
The Pinkathon San Francisco is an untimed, unsupported and unmarked fun run or walk that offers the following distances: 50K, 26.2M, 13.1M, 10M, 10K, 5K, an Adventurethon 2HRS), and the Inaugural Pink Ribbon Run/Trail (4 miler) which will look like a pink ribbon on your GPS device map! You can choose to run more or less or even make your own variations on the course - it's all up to YOU!
The 50K and Marathon distance runners have the option to start early at 7:15 AM or to start at 8:00 AM. All other distances start at 8 AM.. Keep in mind that the Golden Gateway Parking Garage does not open until 7 AM. So if you are starting earlier than 7 AM, you will need to get a ride or take BART or MUNI (Embarcadero Station)..
There is NO official timing or measurement of any kind. You are responsible for measuring your own time and distance if you want. We will not post race results but you can post your own. Sign up for any distance even if you want to run shorter or longer - you can always change your mind! Also, if one distance category signups seems to be full, just sign up for a different distance and you can still run whatever distance you want.
We will have "unofficial" maps to hand out to help you find the course, turn-around spots, and public bathrooms and water fountains. We do not guarantee the accuracy of the maps or markings, and you must agree to run the Pinkathon at your own risk, with no guarantees.

Adventurethon aka "2HRS"
For walkers and runners, and kids (accompanied by a parent) who would like to do something fun and different this time, we have the Pinkathon Adventurethon! Teams consisting of 2 or more people will solve clues taking them to some of the most interesting and scenic locations around San Francisco. Distances will be 2, 4 and 6 miles. You don't have to have a team before you come! We'll assign you on a team with other people who want to do the same distance and speed. Then we'll give each team a list of clues to solve that will be about different locations in San Francisco. Then the teams must get to as many of those locations as possible within the time allotted, and take digital photos of themselves there to prove they found it. All teams must return to the start by 10 AM Sharp and turn in their photos to the "scorers" who will figure out how many points each team gets. There will be up to 3 winning teams - 1 for each distance. To sign up for the Adventurethon, look for the distance labeled "2HRS" which is the only way we could add it on UltraSignup. More details to come!
Pink Ribbon Trail aka "4 Miler"
Please join us for the Inaugural Pink Ribbon Trail aka "4 Miler", created and led by our friend and prolific GPS map artist, Lenny Maughan! Lenny will start marking the trail live with Pink Chalk just before the 10K and 5K start. If you turn on your GPS device and do this trail, you will end up with a map that looks like a Pink Ribbon that you can send to your friends and family! And hopefully, you will also encourage donations to our charity, BCRF, and include a link to our fundraising page in your emails and social media accounts. https://give.bcrf.org/2019PinkathonSF. Sign up for the distance/event called "4 Miler"! For a map of this trail, go to http://pinkathon.org/pink-ribbon-trail. If you have already signed up for another distance, you can switch your registration to "4 miler" here, or at the event. No need to re-register. Just step up when we call for the Pink Ribbon Trail runners!
