This is an out and back race on rail trails in SW Wisconsin. The Badger Trail and the Sugar River Trail are both flat, soft, scenic trails which contain trestle bridges, scenic vistas and a 1/4 mile tunnel (light reccoemnded). This will be a very nice race. Great for first timers.
Today, April 16, 2020, the Wisconsin Governor extended the “Safer at Home” order to May 26, 2020. With a May 30, 2020, race date there is no practical way for us to proceed with preparing for and putting on the race as we will not know if the race will be allowed to proceed from the DNR until May 26, 2020 at the earliest.
So…..here are your options.
Defer your race entry towards a race fee for any other race we put on (including the sugar badger 2021) within the next year. You can use it for an equal or lesser race (we do not refund the difference) or you can apply it towards a more expensive entry and we will charge you the difference. Again, feel free to email us if you have a question on this. You must exercise your deferral by no later than May 1, 2020.
You can run the virtual race. If you want to switch to the virtual race we will refund the difference between your entry fee and the $75.00 virtual race fee. Example: If you paid $150.00 to do the 50 mile race, we will switch you to virtual and refund you $75.00. Example 2: You signed up for the half marathon for $100.00. We will switch you to the virtual half marathon and refund you $25.00. NOTE: this is our preferred choice of course. A) because we want to run together; and B) because we really want to send you this swag bag. And hey, it sucks for our inaugural race to be cancelled and at least all our hard work won’t go for nothing.
You can donate your entry to Ten Junk Miles Racing. A few people have asked about doing this so we want to include it as an option. We thank you for choosing this course and remain committed to putting on awesome events for you in the future.
Note: Our policy of “No Refunds” isn’t changing and the virtual option/half refund option is being offered only during these unprecedented times because they are, well, unprecedented.
We hope these options satisfy everyone. We’re doing the best that we can. If anyone would like to discuss these matters further please do not hesitate to email us.
Shortly you will be sent a question asking which of the three options you would like to exercise on Ultrasignup.
