How Many Years???
That's right! It's the 10th anniversary of the Hatcher Pass Marathon! Come join us for this special year and prove just how tough you really are.
The Hatcher Pass Marathon & Relay is a low-key, uphill marathon in beautiful Willow, Alaska. The route follows Willow Fishhook road (aka Hatcher Pass Rd) all the way over the summit, and finishes at the Independence Mine State Park "Bowl" parking area. The course goes gradually uphill (or relentlessly uphill, depending on your mood) for the first 25 miles; the last mile includes a cramp-inducing downhill, and then one more uphill grunt to the finish line. There is significant elevation gain during this race!. The majority of the course (22+ miles) is on gravel road. The course is slightly longer than 26.2 - please note that it is NOT a certified marathon course.
Local time: 7:54 AM
A 3-person relay is also available. See website www.happymalamuterunning/hatcher-pass-marathon for all details, or click the link above!
