COVID-19 update

Our sincere appreciation to the Six Day in the Dome registered entrants and those prospective entrants on the waitlist that have responded to our question on whether they would participate in the event.

A significant number of entrants and/or prospective entrants responded that they would NOT participate in the event.

As such, under the circumstances and after listening to runner feedback, we believe it would be imprudent to host the event as planned.

Instead, as requested by many runners, we have decided to reschedule the event for July 22 – 31, 2021.
Current Dome III registered entrants will be permitted to fully defer their registration until next year. Entrants that previously registered that received a 50% cancellation refund will receive a code allowing them to register for next year's event at half-price.

Logistics of this deferral will be worked out over the next few weeks.

We sincerely appreciate the Pettit Center's exhaustive efforts (and our sponsor SWORD) in trying to make the Dome III a "go" in these unprecedented times and for accommodating our desire to reschedule the event for 2021.

Thanks again for your feedback and understanding.

All the best,

Steve & Joe

JUNE 30: Please check the run6days.com website for the most recent COVID-19 update.

JUNE 15: The Pettit Center opens one of their rinks today, with the other one scheduled to open on June 22. We continue to work with the Directors of the Pettit as they closely monitor things. We are doing the necessary work to be ready to go when we are given the green light, but not doing anything not crucial to hosting the race, so as not to waste anyone’s money or resources.

Nothing “bad” has happened, and we move forward towards the next update.

JUNE 6: The City of Milwaukee has moved into the next phase of “opening”. The Director of the Pettit Center says he is encouraged with the move by the city, but would like to wait a week or two to see how things go. He says he’s optimistic and hopeful, but wants to make sure things continue to run smoothly. Obviously, these are unprecedented times, and we’ll have to make concessions and adjustments in order to assure the safety of all concerned… runners, crew, staff, and volunteers.

Several people have asked if we can guarantee that it’s happening. I think you know the answer to that? It’s going to come down to an enter at your own risk. KNOW THAT WE WANT TO HOST THE EVENT AS PLANNED, SO WE WON’T PULL THE PLUG. Things can be done on our end to improve safety. Things such as temperatures checks of all people entering the arena, limiting events to 50 runners, limiting crew to ONE at a time (subbing in others can be done, of course). You may need to set up other lodging for crew, as we will have reduced sleeping space. No portable toilets… fortunately the main rest rooms are very close. No self-serve food at the food station… we’ll have masked and gloved personnel to assist you. You can have whatever you wish at your table. Tables will be spaced for social distancing. You’ll have to sign a special waiver in order to participate. A list of guidelines will be posted soon.

However, we have some of the finest runners in the world ready to set records. We’re just waiting on the GO command.

Train like it’s happening.

May 15: yesterday the Wisconsin Supreme Court overturned the Governor's stay at home order, ruling it unlawful and unenforceable.
We continue to move forward as if the race will go on. Likewise, please train for it.

The Place for setting Records

Looking for the definitive location for besting your personal records?
So were we. We literally searched around the globe for the perfect venue for setting World, National, or Age Group records. You all know the issues with the outdoors... it's outdoors! Here's your chance to run without competing against the elements. Climate controlled, 50-55 degrees, with 30-35% humidity.
The running surface is 12 millimeter Regupol Kombi brand, perfect for running.

Of course, it's a USATF Sanctioned event with a certified course- WI14001DM. The event is also sanctioned by the IAU, and was awarded a first-year Bronze Label. We look for this label to be upgraded to Silver for 2020

You can feel confident that your efforts won't be in vain, as we have Mike Melton, as the Head Timer. Mike is a very experienced timer, and is considered the best at what he does!

Zach Bitter smashes 100 mile World Record at the Pettit Center

11:19:13! Can you believe it? Zach Bitter broke the old World Record of 11:28:03 by almost Nine Minutes!
He continued on to better his own World Record for the 12hr by completing 104.88 miles.
Congrats to Zach! Couldn't happen to a nicer guy.
Many National Age Group records also fell at the Pettit Center. Check out www.run6days.com for complete listing.

Elite 24hr Invitational added

NEW for 2020 will be a very limited entry Elite 24hr Invitational.
In order to allow for super fast performances, the field will be limited to 30.
Those individuals meeting the qualifying standards as outlined in the www.run6days.com website will compete for prize money, and most importantly, have the opportunity to post big miles or fast times in pursuit of World or National Records.
This should be a great vehicle for making the 24hr US National Team.

Wait list enacted due to COVID-19

THE RACE IS NOT FULL! We've enacted the wait list for all events due to the uncertainty surrounding COVID-19. You can save a spot in the race* by entering the waitlist, and the good news is that you won't have any money at risk. Ultrasignup will take your credit card info, but you won't be charged unless 1) you receive an invitation to enter, and 2) you accept the invitation. Then you will be charged.
*- entry into the Thursday 24hr elite race from the waitlist is by invitation only, and is based on qualifications of entrant.
