Aqua Terra

Welcome to the Kal Park- Aqua Terra Event, located in the beautiful Okanagan’s Kalamalka Lake Provincial Park.
There is km after km of single track trail with beautiful blue green waters located virtually at the back door of the City of Vernon.
Aqua Terra is totally new to the Okanagan, in this event racers will challenge themselves solo or as a team in three different events, Stand Up Paddle board, Mountain Biking and Trail Running.

The race will start down at Jade Bay beach where the Long course will head out first followed 30 minutes later by the short course racers towards Rattle Snake point. As you cruise around the point you will see a giant White Swan where the short course racers will turn and head back to Rattle Snake Point and the paddle staging area. The long course racers will say hello to the White Swan and continue on towards Cosens Bay beach and head to the right around your first giant Pink Flamingo. From here you will paddle up along the shoreline to your next Giant Pink Flaming and take a write turn around it back towards Rattle Snake point and the paddle staging area.
From here you will place your board and run up to the bike staging area in the far parking lot to either tag your rider or get riding yourself. Your ride will take you onto Comin Around the Mountain where you will head towards the Wall and Cosens bay parking lot. At the Wall the short course will take a hard-right turn and head for their climb up the Wall over the top of the mountain across to Look Out trail, back to Comin Around the Mountain to bike staging area. The long course will continue through Cosens Bay parking lot down into Bear Valley to turn left up Beaver Basher and begin your climb all the way up Three Rings and Stone Free until you reach the HRT. Here your decent will start out super easy and fast the take a dramatic turn to the left down Twista, Lower HRT, Cabin Trail, all the way down to Gingerly where you climb your way to the Wall, over the top of Look Out Trail, down Little Moab, Comin Around the Mountain and back to the bike staging area where both distances will start you run. At this point let’s hope you have left a little in the tank for what’s to come! Some climbs, to legs crushing descents and a ton of fun all the way to the finish line where we I’ll be waiting with your finishers medal, high 5’s and food
