Covid-19 Update 5/27 - Going to be a bit long winded here but want to give an update on the races. With each race we will wait until just over a month out in hopes city officials realize how important these events are to the community and start allowing them to happen. We believe a little sweat and sunshine is good for the body, mind, and soul!
We have submitted plans that comply with CDC guidelines to do our best at keeping runners safe. If you have friends and family who are on the fence about signing up I would get them to do so now because we may have to limit these events to 50 or less runners. Runners signing up will be placed in a waitlist and credit cards will not be charged unless the race is confirmed.
We will lose money doing it with this amount of runners but we have already put in the time to organize and plan these races. When we started Happy Trails Running last year making money was never our goal. We wanted to create a series of races that focused on beautiful trails and an experience runners would enjoy and keep coming back to. We also want to focus on supporting local small businesses as well as the organizations that help maintain these amazing trails. If you have the time, go check out our website sponsors page. These businesses need you now more than ever!
With the above said we have decided we will offer refunds or credits to all runners should we be forced to cancel a race. By doing this we hope that you will continue to support our races knowing Happy Trails Running puts runners first. The best way for us to grow is word of mouth and repeat runners!
We hope to see you sooner than later, happy trails!
Why should I sign up for this race?
Beautiful course, food, good company, race photos, custom locally made finisher medal and awards, friendly competition, performance t-shirt, and swag. What more could you want? Really if you can think of something let us know and we will try to get it!
Jordan River Parkway Trail is a stunning 40 mile long trail. We have chosen some of the best miles to run on! You will run along this beautiful river for 13.1 miles taking in all of the great views it has to offer. Wetlands, parks, golf courses, ponds, bridges, this course has it all! Passing under and over bridges keeps you out of harms way offering a seamless trail experience that is hard to find on the asphalt these days.
Please check out the website for all the info you will need. Ask us if you have any questions, Happy Trails!
The Half Marathon starts at East Riverfront Pavilion. Park with unlimited parking and amenities. This pavilion is nestled right in the heart of the Jordan River Parkway Trail. An amazing trail system that follows the Jordan River for over 40 miles.
You will pass through wetlands, ponds, golf courses, parks, and bridges all while taking in beautiful views along the course.
We chose this course to combine the best parts of the Jordan River Trail system as well as take advantage of the Fall weather. The Fall is our favorite time of year and nothing beats a good run in the cool crisp air and beautiful scenery!
