The Red Devil 50K has quickly become on of the Pacific Northwests must do races. The race starts and ends at Sandcreek Trailhead and includes the Red Devil, Red Hill, Devil’s Gulch and Mission Ridge trail systems in the Wenatchee-Okanagan National Forest, outside of Cashmere, WA to form an incredibly challenging 7,200 ft of climbing to challenge even the most seasoned trail runner. We will have two fully staffed and supplied aid stations on the 50K course, one of which you will pass twice at mile 9 and 26, the other you will pass at mile 17. There will be a water only self serve station at mile 5. At mile 9, 17 and 26 \we will have the usual Ultra running fare, to include PB and J sandwiches, pickles and pickle juice, water, electrolyte drink, cookies, candy, pretzels, fruit, gels, etc… Watch for our Llama friends at mile 17!

For a race report from 2019, check out Team LaSportiva's Maria Dalzot's blog post.

Event Details

Each finisher will receive an Iconic Red Devil Medal, shuttle transportation to and from the start/finish, fully staffed aid stations and plenty of food and hydration products at the finish. We partner with Chelan County Mountain Search and Rescue to provide course support and they are the non-profit beneficiary.

Race Shirts are available for purchase, online-only, as part of registration checkout.

Mile Post 111 Brewing Company in Cashmere will once again offer discounts to racers for food and beverage after the race.

Races are going cupless for 2020!

We are including a reusable, collapsible drinking cup for all runners for our trail runs starting in 2020, thus reducing our environmental impact by not having paper cups littering the course or in the landfill.

Ruck Option

We have added a new "twist" to our trail events. We have added a new option called Rucking.
RUCK•ING [VERB] // Walking/hiking with a weighted rucksack (aka backpack). It implies action, energy, and purpose. Rucking requires strength, endurance, and character -- and builds it, too.

Rucking is the foundation of Special Forces training, but is also a great alternative to running for those that are not able to run but are avid hikers, walkers, and fast packers.

Many of us have taken on rucking as another way to stay fit and challenge ourselves on the trails, so we decided to add this to our event schedule!

The rules: Pick the 25k or 10k (50k will not be ruck event at this time). Complete the 25k or 10k wearing the pack: Special Award Given to those that complete the event wearing the pack.

Weight Requirements:
Bodyweight under 150 lbs: 20 lbs + Rucksack/Backpack
Bodyweight over 150 lbs: 30 lbs + Rucksack/Backpack

Student Rates

Middle School, High School, and College Students are all eligible for a substantial entry discount to all our trail runs. Click on the Student Entry if you are any one of these runners.

The 25K — also a loop with the start and finish at Sandcreek Trailhead — includes the Red Devil, Red Hill and Devil’s Gulch single track trails, features close to 4300 feet of elevation gain and is the first 9 miles of the 50k course. One water only, self serve station at mile 5 and a fully staffed aid station at mile 9. We will have the usual Ultra running fare, to include PB and J sandwiches, pickles and pickle juice, water, electrolyte drink, cookies, candy, pretzels, fruit, gels, etc…

The out-and-back 10K, which also starts and ends at the Sandcreek Trailhead, and is on well-maintained logging and forest service roads, has an elevation gain of 1,000 feet. One water/electrolyte station, which you pass twice as the course is out and back.

Cut Off Times

50k Cut off times: Our cut off times are generous and allow for people to run the course. You will have to be able to move at an average of 3-3.5 mph to make the cut-offs. We reserve the right to pull you off the course if you are behind these times. At Mile 9 and 26 (Devils Gulch Trailhead) is an extraction point where runners can be shuttled back to the start/finish area if injured or do not meet the cutoff criteria. Here are the cut off times:
Mile 9 (Devils Gulch TH): 3 hours
Mile 17 (Henley’s Camp): 6 hours
Mile 26 (Devils Gulch TH): 8 hours
Finish Line: 10 hours

Local time: 4:02 PM
