UPDATE MARCH 17, 2021
It is with regret that we announce that the Perrydell races are going on hiatus. We are hopeful that at some future time we can return to race the muddy farm fields together. We want to thank everyone for coming out over the years to have a bit of family fun in support of charitable causes.
2020 registrants, please check your email to let us know how you would like to handle the 2020 race fee you paid.
See you in the woods!
GLOVES PICK-UP
Good morning runners!
The race is canceled, but we still want everyone registered and our volunteers to have the 2020 Mudfest running gloves with texting fingertips. Here are your two options to get them.
Option 1— You may stop into the Perrydell Farm Store and give your name to one of the helpful cashiers. And while you’re there, if you would like a second pair of gloves for family or friends, our remaining stock will be available for purchase at the store.
Option 2— We will happily hold your 2020 Mudfest gloves until the 2021 Perrydell Mudfest where you’ll receive them at bib pick-up.
We apologize to our more distant runners that we cannot mail gloves. It’s just not cost-effective. I priced envelopes plus USPS charges yesterday and the cost would be roughly $2 per pair for local zip codes and about $4 per pair for distant zip codes. We hope you understand.
Thanks again for supporting the Shon Seeley Fund and we’ll see you in March of 2021 on the farm!
Keep running those trails!
Be well, Jimmy Rayburn
ENTRIES ROLLOVER TO 2021
As of 8:00 PM on March 27, 2020, Gov. Wolf's stay-at-home order extends to York County, PA. Regretfully, the ninth running of our family-friendly race will not be rescheduled for this year. All registered runners will receive a free entry to the 2021 Perrydell Mudfest and the awesome 2020 running gloves. Instructions to redeem the rollover and get your gloves will be sent to your email on record. Thanks for your continued support of our charitable event!
Keep running those trails!
IMPORTANT
As of today, March 18, 2020, this year's Perrydell Mudfest is still a go! The fields are green and it's going to be awesome. Please tell your friends so they can join us! Both the 5K and the new 10K will be run on April 4, 2020 starting at 9:00 AM. Any changes will be posted here and emailed to the participants. If we are forced to cancel, we will credit all runners for the 2021 race.
To keep our social distance, we will not have any race day signups. Registration runs through April 3rd at midnight. Race day bib pickup begins at 8:15 AM. Thanks for supporting the Shon Seeley Fund!
WELCOME
Join us for a muddy cross-country frolic through the gorgeous hills and dales of a working dairy farm in South York! The Perrydell Mudfest is set for April 4, 2020. This will be the ninth running of the family-friendly 5K and the first running of the 10K double-loop option.
COURSE
You will stomp across farm fields and cow pastures, slog through a muddy creek, breeze up & down a farm road, traverse another pasture, cross over a second creek, skirt another field, circle the pond, brave the prickly path, and kick it to the finish! And all throughout, there will be mud, mud, mud. You're gonna love it!
In the interest of safety, please do not plan to run with strollers or pets. The terrain and footing on the course and the intensity of the mud make this race extremely unsuitable for those ideas.
NEW DISTANCE
We're excited to offer a new double-loop 10K option for 2020! To help our volunteers, please make sure you can average under 15:00 minutes per mile in order to sign up for the long race.
BENEFIT
Race proceeds benefit the Shon Seeley Legacy Fund for Sustainable Farming Education.
Learn more about the fund at:
https://pasafarming.org/ways-to-give/shon-seeley-legacy-fund-for-sustainable-farming-education/
PREMIUMS
Perrydell race gloves for registrants in both distances until we run out.
All participants receive a pint of York County's finest chocolate milk and a whoopie pie!
ATTENTION--The vendor for the traditional Perrydell gloves has increased their minimum order amount well beyond our needs. We have secured a different vendor and a replacement running glove. It will be one-size-fits-most rather than the multiple sizes as in years past. Please see the picture of the 2020 glove posted above and if you have any concerns, feel free to drop us an email. Thanks for your understanding.
