THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED
Due to the ongoing COVID19 pandemic and the increase in cases and deaths, we feel it is too unsafe and unfair to host this race in 2020.
Wood You Rather
Welcome to a new style of racing from Go Beyond Racing - a checkpoint run. You can think of this as a mashup between a trail race and an orienteering event. Not sure what that even means? It's ok! For this race, runners receive a map at the start with nine checkpoints highlighted. You have 2.5 hours to get out on the trails and find as many checkpoints and get back to the finish by the time the course closes. The winners (male, female, and team) are those who get the most checkpoints in the quickest time. Depending on the route you choose, you can expect to run between 7.5 and 10 miles.
There's strategy involved. You can look at your map and decide which route you want to take. Wood your rather go up that steeper trail to get to the checkpoint or take a longer route so you can avoid climbing? Wood you rather get the checkpoints near the start/finish first or save those for the end, assuming you having time left?
Map & Compass
Are you concerned that you don't know how to read a map? That's ok too as the map is very simple and has the trails marked. A compass isn't required, but could be helpful and makes for good practice.
Individual or Team
You can decide to run this race solo, or to form a team. Teams can have 3, 4, 5, or 6 people. For the team category, all team members times are averaged and the fastest average time is the winner.
If you need to cancel your registration and it’s more than 30 days prior to the race, you will receive a 50% credit toward a future Go Beyond Racing race. This credit is equal to half the value of the race you registered for and can be applied to any of our races that aren’t already sold out. You can use this credit within 365 days of it being issued. There is no transferring of this credit. If your cancellation is 30 days or less from race day, there is no credit, no refund, or no transfer. You can read the cancellation policy here:
