Queeny Backyard Ultra is now part of the Trail Mix Fund!
In an effort to improve diversity in trail racing and remove a potential barrier for the under-served and under-represented, the Trail Mix Fund pays the race registration fee for runners who cannot afford it or aren’t sure they belong in the sport.
We also believe that there are more BIPOC & LGBTQ+ people who would like to race and would enjoy being part of the community but aren’t comfortable taking that step of signing up to race. Waiving the registration fee alone won’t solve this problem, but maybe it can help some.

2027 *BRONZE TICKET EDITION*
The winner of the 2027 Queeny Backyard Ultra will earn a guaranteed entry into a Silver Ticket Event. The qualifying window for Bronze Ticket Events runs from mid‑August 2026 through mid‑August 2027.
Please note that the winner of the 2027 QBU is responsible for their own registration fees and entry into any Silver Ticket Event they choose to participate in.
INTRO & COURSE LAYOUT
QUEENY BACKYARD ULTRA will be hosted in Queeny Park on Friday, March 5, 2027 @ 10AM.
This race is presented by Terrain Trail Runners - STL Queeny Backyard Ultra is a "Last Runner Standing" concept and QBU is affiliated with Backyard Ultra Series!
The course will utilize a combination of the Hawk Ridge Trail, Fox Run Trail, White Oak Trail, Owl Creek Trails run
COUNTER-CLOCKWISE. The loop distance is approx. 4.19 Miles with 430 feet of ascent and 430 feet of descent. The course/trail is a combination of wide paved, short dirt trail section and hardpacked stone/gravel trails with rolling hills that traverse through some scenic sections.
LOCATION
Queeny Park – 550 Weidman Road, Manchester, MO 63011 – Smith Shelter
Smith Shelter is located off Edgar M. Queeny County Park Road. Enter the park by turning right from Weidman Road into the Queeny Park entrance. Follow the road into the park, then take the first left onto Edgar M. Queeny County Park Road. Continue straight until the road dead‑ends at the parking lot. Park there, then walk up to the Smith Shelter.
Race HQ and setup will be in and around the shelter area. Additional setup details will be included in the pre‑race email, which will be sent once online registration closes on February 28, 2027.

Queeny Backyard Ultra - Overall Finisher Awards - We’re proud to honor top performers across all gender categories. Overall finisher awards will be presented to the highest-ranking participants in each of the following divisions: Non-Binary, Female and Male.
All other runners are considered a "Did Not Finish" (DNF) and may receive a Challenge Coin based on Loops(mileage) completed.
