We are back for more fun in the sun
Our Inaugural race was a smashing success thanks to everyone that supported us and we hope to build on that success and present you the same great experience as last year! We changed the date from mothers day due to state forest restrictions, however, we still plan on making it a trail party for all mom's and will do something special for them like we did last year. We are changing up the courses a little this year to add in a new section of trail so we wont have to run on any surface roads to make this an all trail race.. We hope to see you again or for the first time on this majestic trail here in NE Florida!
If you've run a trail race before, you know that there's pretty much always an "ish" attached to the distance and that the "ish" will almost never be shorter than the stated distance. The Ocho de Mayhem is no different there. Our distances will be around 13.1 miles and 12k-ish. The cut off time for the Half Marathon Distance will be 4.5 hours (just over 20 min/mile average) and the cut off for the 12k will be 3 hours (just over 22 mins/mile average) This will allow plenty of time to finish even if you have to hike the race. Their is no time limit for the 5k
Unfortunately, we're still living in the COVID era, so we need to be safe to protect our runners and our volunteer staff. At each aid station we will have volunteers available to ensure that all hydration igloos will be sanitized adequately.
Our Fundraising Partners
Proceeds of our Jennings Forest Trail Runs support a variety of causes including the Friends of Jennings Forest who build and maintain the trails we run on and Runners 4 Recovery - an organization dedicated to supporting addiction recovery services in the Jacksonville area.
This is a cupless race. All runners will need to bring their own bottles, hydration vest with bladder or collapsible cup to the event. We will have several aid stations stocked with water and electrolytes that our awesome volunteers will distribute to you .
Awards and Swag
All runners will receive an Ocho de Mayhem custom medal and awards made by the fabulous Brie Los at Wicked Skins given to overall winners for each distance and other great swag yet to be determined
We're proud to work with the following event sponsors: Runners 4 Recovery, Trail Toes and PRS Running Club, If you're interested in Sponsoring the Ocho de Mayhem Trail Run, please contact Mike Martinez at (904) 729-1632
