Florida's Longest Trail Ultra!
THIS IS NOW A VIRTUAL, UNSUPPORTED EVENT WITH NO TIME CUT-OFF..
The Across Florida 200 mile Endurance Trail Run across the State of Florida. Challenge yourself with 100 miles of the Florida Trail, 20 miles of State Park trails, 45 Miles of dirt roads, 15 miles of new Rails to Trails, and only 20 miles of road. Brought to you by the ARGEORGIA.COM, FLX Adventures, Florida State Parks, and the City of St. Augustine.
Runners can start their journey on Monday, November 1st on the west coast of Florida and finish by Friday, December 31st. Registered runners will receive access to GPX files, maps of each section with details on all suggested aid station locations for your crew to support you along the way. Once you complete the full 200 miles, runners will receive the largest ever buckle and race t-shirt, as well as custom-designed awards. NEVER STEP FOOT ON THE SAME TRAIL TWICE DURING THIS RACE, NO OUT AND BACKS, NO LOOPS OR REPEATS. THIS IS A "TRUE" POINT-TO-POINT CHALLENGE.
GPX files with printable maps will be provided and each racer should carry a GPS tracker for the entire race so staff, support crews, and family can track you during your journey. The race starts at the west end of the Withlacoochee Bay Trail at the pavilion. You'll then travel 12 miles of the Withlacoochee Bay Trail to Lake Rousseau Dam & Recreational Area. Next, 20 miles of power-line trails along Lake Rousseau to pick up the Florida Trail south of Dunnellon. You'll travel on the beautiful Florida Trail for 50 miles through the Cross Florida Greenway. Once south of Silver Springs and the edge of the Ocala National Forest there will be 20 miles of dirt roads to reconnect to the Florida Trail. Then, you'll head north 60 miles on the most scenic part of the Florida Trail through the rolling hills of the Ocala National Forest. Once in Palatka, this will be the hardest part of the race with 20 miles of the new Rails to Trails route to St. Augustine and then 10 miles of roads to finish at the pier in St. Augustine Beach.
There is a section through the Marjorie Harris Carr Greenway east of Dunnellon that is closed the second weekend of November due to a youth hunt. Always check https://outreach.myfwc.com/events for updates on hunting in Florida.
