Course Description
Welcome to Green Mountain Mayhem 11 mile & 20 mile run. This is a challenging yet technical trail race on Green Mountain in Sylamore, Arkansas takes you on a journey through the Ozark-St. Francis National Forests. Start times of 6:15 am & 6:30 am will allow runners to enjoy watching the sunrise on two separate single track trail heads through Green Mountain. The 11-mile runners will be enjoying the scenery of Bald Scrappy Loop. Our 20 mile runners will enjoy the scenery and challenges of both Bald Scrappy/Scrappy Mountain Loop. Runners will have manned/unmanned aid stations along their respected running routes. Aid stations will meet Covid-19 rules. We recommend all runners have some form of hydration/fueling system to carry during the race. Runners should bring a headlamp or lights of some sort for the first 20-30 mins of the race. This run is a mix of pavement(1 mile)/gravel road/single track trail systems. The course of each race distance is roughly 90% single track trail. Runners will experience rocks, roots, hilly terrain and a few creek crossings (20-milers). Runners will run .5 miles of pavement start/finishing at Jacks Resort or better known as JoJo’s Cafe. Guess we should also throw in that last little bit of Mayhem of the race, the great Arkansas Heat/Humidity.
