Come and Get Lost!
GET LOST in the beautiful Okanogan National Forest during the 3rd annual Trail Race at Lost Lake. This incredible race is a fundraiser for the Okanogan Highlands Alliance (OHA), a local grass-roots environmental organization. All race entries come with a complimentary one-year membership to OHA and some super cool surprise swag! There will be aid stations and a delicious post race meal for all racers. There will also be a FREE Kid's 1k fun run on race day!
In order to keep this race accessible to as many people as possible we will be offering TWO race options this year:
1. Come and race on July 11! We will not be able to camp together at the group site this year (thanks COVID), but there are individual sites available on a first come, first serve basis for $15 per night. We'll keep our distance, follow all current COVID guidelines and run the races! All races will begin and end at the Lost Lake Group Camp.
2. Run the course of your choice independently between June 1 and July 10 and send us your time (honor system or prove it by sending us your run file).*
Signed up for the 5k? Find a trail near you that's relatively flat.
Signed up for the 7 mile? Find a route near you that has roughly 900' elevation gain.
Signed up for the 14'er? Find a route near you that has roughly 1800' elevation gain.
The group camp is set beneath mixed-conifer forest and surrounded by mountains. It has lot of room for tents and can accommodate up to 100 people. The site is equipped with picnic tables, campfire rings, grills, drinking water and flush toilets. Access to Lost Lake beach and Lost Lake Amphitheater are within walking distance. Bring your musical instruments, kayak or canoe, bicycles, games, and swimsuits for a weekend of fun at Lost Lake.
About Lost Lake
The Lost Lake area offers a medium sized lake with scenic views, forested mountains, abundant wildlife, and a few hiking trails. The surrounding area has clean streams and diverse forests that support an abundance of wildlife, including deer, porcupine, black bear, cougar, native fish, common loon, bald eagles, and migratory birds. Endangered and threatened species, including gray wolves and Canada lynx, also find havens in nearby ecosystems. Lost Lake offers outdoor enthusiasts the opportunity to hike, fish, and enjoy a long list of outdoor recreational activities. Anglers enjoy boat fishing (with an electric motor only) for rainbow and triploid eastern brook. A boat ramp is available in the campground.
Local time: 7:18 AM
In January 2010, Okanogan Highlands Alliance responded to an extraordinary opportunity, purchasing 38 acres of wetland and 27 acres of adjacent forestland on the south end of Lost Lake. The Lost Lake property, with its abundant plant and wildlife, will be restored where necessary and preserved in perpetuity.
