Mission Possible: Do you have what it takes?
Summer will be here before you know it.... and what better way to celebrate summer than with a 12 hour swim? Not your cup of tea? No worries, we have distances for everyone to enjoy. Our 12 hour swim challenge involves a 1/4 mile long loop to be repeated until you tap out. If you're not feeling up to doing 12 hours alone- feel free to do it with 1,2, or 3 other people to make it a fun relay. We'll also have a 1 mile swim and a just for fun free floaty loop for all to enjoy.
You can be sure we will have a great aid station full of food, drink, and all the cheery volunteers you could ever hope for. Mission Lake has a wonderful grass area for your family/friends/ supporters to spread out on and enjoy!
A minimum of 35 people MUST be signed up for either 1 mile swim or the 12 hour challenge in order for us to hold this event. If we do not meet this minimum, we will reach out to those signed up for a refund, donation, or to defer to next year's event.

What: swim ¼ mile sheltered open water loop for 12 hours in gorgeous Mission Lake. How you break up the 12 hours is up to you- pace, how long you take a break for, when you eat, how you break up the loops if doing it as a team...it is all up to you! As long as you start at 7 am, we’ll count the last loop you complete prior to 7 pm on 7/30/2022

Who: solo, 2 person team, 3 person team, 4 person team
Price: $40 for solo 12 hour, $80 for 2 person 12 hour, $120 for 3 person 12 hour, $160 for 4 person 12 hour. Registration price includes swim caps, finisher award, awesome aid station
Other: wetsuits are optional. Can be worn for some laps and not others. There will NOT be separate divisions for wetsuit vs. non wetsuit competitors.

Wausau Tread & Trail Challenge
Want to make a full weekend of it? We are pairing up with another local race organization, Wausau 24, to offer you the challenge of the summer!
Sign up for and complete any of the Wausau Trail Run options on 7/29/2022 at https://wausau24.com/wausau-trail-run/ (including the 5k, 10k, or 1/2 marathon options) in addition to any of the WausaUltra Mission Possible swim options on 7/30/2022 (including 12 hour challenge solo/team, or 1 mile swim).
If you are able to complete this challenge, you'll receive a $10 gift card to a local Wausau business as well as receive an amazing handmade award honoring your bada$$ery.

Floaty Loop
Obviously the most competitive option of the Mission Possible series ;) , join us to celebrate all the bad-a$$es who have been swimming all day. Around 6:30/6:45 pm on 7/30/2022, jump in the water with your favorite water wings, tubes, noodles, or inflatable unicorns for a quick float to bring in the 12 hour racers and close out the solstice swim!
Rain date
Race will be held unless concern for thunder and lightning. In case of lightning/thunder during event (after start), participants will be evacuated from water and encouraged to seek shelter until 30 minutes have elapsed since last thunder/lightning.
If we are unable to start our event or there is prolonged lightning/thunder >2 hrs, we will plan to hold our event on July 31 (same times as July 30). If unable to make rain date, no refund will be given. In addition, if unable to hold event on July 30 or 31 due to weather, no refunds will be given.
