Event Overview
Sounds awesome... a great pre-Thanksgiving outing! You will enjoy a 5 mile or 8 mile hike traversing one of the best sections of the MA MidState Trail from Wachusett Mountain to Wachusett Brewery.
Support North County Land Trust's (NCLT) conservation efforts in north central MA by participating in the inaugural Wachusett Mountain to Wachusett Brewery (W2W) Hike... aptly named... Hiking Shoes to Cold Brews! If you are ambitious, there will be an early bird optional pre-hike summit of Wachusett Mountain (~3 mile loop). For the main event, you will join fellow outdoor adventurers in a point-to-point hike from Wachusett Mountain to Wachusett Brewery across ~5 miles of trail with numerous vistas/landmarks including Redemption Rock and Crow Ledges. Finish at Wachusett Brewery with a celebratory beverage, live music and silent auction. Food/beverages available for purchase. This is a dog friendly event (hike and brewery), however unfortunately, dogs will not be allowed on the bus per the transportation company so you'll need to find alternative arrangements.
This FUNdraising event supports the North County Land Trust mission to protect the landscape of our region thru land preservation and stewardship. North County Land Trust is a non-profit that has been protecting the natural resources in north central Massachusetts for 30 years. All funds raised will go directly to supporting land protection projects, management of our more than 1,500 acres of land and miles of public trails, and free nature-based programming in north central MA.
Participants can register for:
- 8am Summit + W2W Hike
- 9am-10am Hike Start (groups sent off in waves)
- 10am-11am Hike Start (groups sent off in waves)
- 12noon 'No Hike' Option (meet at the Brewery)
Hike participants or leisure supporters (no hike rqd!) will combine the satisfaction of completing an epic hiking adventure with friends/family with the gratification for supporting a great cause. This is a rain or shine event. No refunds.
Transportation Logistics
Leave your vehicle at Wachusett Mtn Ski Area parking (499 Mountain Rd, Princeton, MA) at the start of the Hike. Hike across one of the best sections of the MidState Trail to a road crossing near Wachusett Brewery. Bus transportation provided (approx 1.5 miles) from the road crossing to the Brewery for a fun post-hike event. Bus transportation provided back to Wachusett Mtn Ski Area. NOTE: Masks will be required on the bus so please bring one.
