Born to Adapt 2023
Mendocino Movement Project is excited to announce Born to Adapt 2023! This year’s event will be hosted on Saturday, April 15, 2023 in beautiful Los Olivos, California.
The Born to Adapt trail race is designed by adaptive athletes for adaptive athletes, and offers many different options for participants at all levels. This year’s Born to Adapt will offer the original Born to Adapt 3 Hour Challenge and we’ve added 2 NEW events: Born to Adapt 10 Mile and 30 Mile races, which will both be hosted on-site in Los Olivos. For those who want to support or participate but can’t make it to the ranch for this year, you can also join us for the virtual 5K!
All of this year’s Born to Adapt races (except the virtual 5k) will have an adaptive division with 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishes. We are currently working on prize purses for these races, and will look forward to sharing more about gear and potential cash prizes. Stay tuned for these updates. The race description for each of these events is below.
It’s important to us that all people have access to this trail race opportunity, which is why we are offering financial assistance with registration fees on a sliding scale. If you need assistance with the race entry fee for yourself, or if you are interested in sponsoring other athletes to participate, please email Race Director Zach Friedley at info@mendomovement.org
Born to Adapt Virtual
If you want to support Born to Adapt but can't make it, the Virtual 5k is your opportunity to run some miles with us, wherever you are, regardless of your ability. This is for all athletes - not just adaptive athletes! Your registration in the Virtual 5k helps support the Born to Adapt participants who enter on the sliding scale. We want to eliminate the financial barrier many adaptive athletes face and this is a way to help. If you would like to make a tax deductible donation to support the event, in addition or lieu of the virtual 5K, you may send payments to
