Join us for CROWBAR #17!
CROWBAR (Cache Regional Overland Winter BAckcountry Race) is a backcountry ski mountaineering (SkiMo) race that is held entirely outside of ski area boundaries near the summit of Logan Canyon, Utah. Started by a group of pioneering backcountry skiers in 2008, before SkiMo was really even a thing, we continue the tradition into 2025. This year's race will have Race and Tour Divisions for both our Long and Short Courses. Note that Short Course Race is for the Juniors only (under 18).
The Course: Big climbs and fun descents on ridges, forested slopes, and open glades, while avoiding avalanche terrain and providing spectacular views of the Bear River Range and Bear Lake!
The race will be held at the Swan Flat TH/Garden City venue.
More information and rules can be found at the race website here
The combined ski/binding weight cutoff for the Long Course Tour is 1,450g (51 oz) per ski. If your setup is below this weight, then you are required to register for the Long Course Race division.
Long Course participants will need a Via Ferrata kit (improvised kit is allowed: Harness, 2 carabiners and a ~36" runner tied to the belay loop)
