Point Break Trail Race
You've come this far, now let's take you a little further. This race is going to push you and your spirit to climb several peaks in just one race, all nestled inside the beautiful Hanging Rock State Park. Whether you sign up for the 14 or 28 mile race, you're going to feel proud of what you've accomplished when you cross the finish line and rejoin your family and fellow runners. If you haven't run with the Vagabond Endurance family yet, this is a great chance to join in as we continue to build out the reach of our crew and bring more runners into the wild beauty that is trail running.
Local time: 12:45 PM
Starting at the lake access, you'll begin your climb up to Wolf's Rock, then to Hanging Rock, out to Indian Creek, up Moore's Wall, and then out to Tory's Den. Once you've completed your journey out to the far reaches of the park, you'll come storming back to us. The 14 mile runners will be running a single loop on the course, while the 28 mile runners will complete two loops. So if you're looking to push yourself on a difficult course, we've got you covered.
14 Mile Runners (3000ft of elevation) - You will begin your journey at 8am and have until 4pm to finish. This is an 8 hour time limit that gives you ample opportunity to finish this race. That doesn't mean you'll have it easy. You'll still have to push yourself and dig deep to find the courage to summit each climb. You will have 2 on course aid stations, as well as the aid at the Start/Finish line when you make it back to us. If you haven't made it out of the last aid station by 2:30, you will be pulled from the race.
28 Mile Runners (4500 ft elevation gain)- You will begin your journey at 7:30am and have until 4pm to finish. This timeframe is doable, but you will have to stay consistent and push yourself. Manage your time and pace properly and you will finish with time to spare. If you decide not to take the climbs seriously and burn out, you will have a hard time finishing. But you aren't looking to run 28 miles and not be challenged. If you're reading this, you want adventure and you want to push yourself. So sign up and let's see what you can do. To help you out with this, you will have 2 aid stations on course and must leave the last aid station by 2:30pm or you will be pulled from the race.
All runners who register by April 1st will be guaranteed a race shirt. Register after April 1st and we will have a shirt for you, but we can't guarantee it will be your size. All runners who cross the finish line will receive a finishers award worth adding to your collection at home to remind you of what you've accomplished.
Top 3 awards will be handed out for each distance for male and female. We will be showing off the top 3 awards as we get closer to race day for those shooting for a top spot finish. There are no age group awards.
Prices for this race will increase on January 1st 2022 so sign up quickly. If this event sells out there will be no waitlist. There will also be no refunds issued if you are unable to attend, or if the race has to be postponed.
