🚨 Brazos Bend 100 - Rescheduled to January 6-7 🚨
Due to upcoming inclement weather and trail conditions, the Brazos Bend State Park staff has decided to reschedule this weekend's events to the weekend of January 6th and 7th, 2024. Everyone involved and invested is disappointed and was looking forward to this weekend, but as trail runners we also understand that we should not proceed at the cost of damaging the park or putting ourselves at risk. We considered many options and alternatives, but ultimately our best option was to give as much advance notice of the change and enough time before the new dates so that everyone can still plan to join us.
Registered participants should check their emails for detailed information and options available to them.
As we prepare for the new event dates, we will be adding a 10km event on Sunday the 7th to give runners the opportunity for a shorter distance, given other upcoming events you may be committed to. We will also be re-opening registration for all events while spots remain.
We recognize the sentiment surrounding the event rescheduling and race options. From our side, the race gear has been loaded, equipment rented, food purchased, and many hours put into preparing specifically for this weekend where many of the expenses cannot be repurposed. We thank you for understanding the broader impact on everyone’s race weekend. Please allow a few hours for all information and links to be updated. The event website will continue to be updated as we approach race weekend.
Volunteers will all be removed from their currently selected shifts. This means we are starting fresh on volunteer recruitment - please consider volunteering and share with your friends, clubs, teams, and family to help us on our new dates [link in bio].
As this is TROT’s biggest annual event, we are just as disappointed that Brazos Bend 100 will not take place this weekend. We look forward to hosting our best-ever Brazos Bend 100 on January 6th and 7th.

VOLUNTEER
We need volunteers to have a successful event, please share and consider signing up here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C094AADA822AAF4C61-46391791-brazos#/
All volunteers receive future race credits, free park access, food, swag, and a great time helping out our amazing TROT community. This is a great way to learn a ton about ultra trail running without actually running and make some friends along the way.
Western States Qualifier
The Brazos Bend 100 miler distance has been an official Western States Endurance Run qualifying race for over five years. Since BB100 is held in early December, around the same time as the WSER lottery, our race will earn you a raffle ticket to the following year's lottery for the next year's WSER. Example: If you qualify in 2023 you will earn a 2024 raffle ticket for the 2025 WSER lottery. Official letter from WSER:
"We [WSER] are pleased to inform you that the 2023 Brazos Bend 100 has been selected as a qualifying race for the 2025 Western States 100. Runners who complete the race within 30 hours will qualify to enter a lottery where the runners for Western States will be selected. You do not need to submit anything to us, we will obtain the results directly from your website.
The qualifying period for the 2025 Western States will be from November 6, 2023 through November 3, 2024. The lottery will be held on December 7, 2024 and the race itself will be run on June 28-29, 2025."

Description
To celebrate the Texas State Parks centennial we are doing a special edition 100k (replacing the 50M) event to pair alongside the 100mi, stay tuned for more exciting updates for this full weekend of racing.
Brazos Bend 100
100 Miler / 100 kilometer / 26.2 Marathon / 13.1 Half Marathon
The Brazos Bend 100 Miler is the FASTEST trail in the nation with its mostly flat course and easy aid stations. It's the perfect place to set some personal records, and there are alligators! The wildlife is abundant in Brazos Bend State Park, but it's overshadowed in general interest by the American alligator. Birds of 290 species have been sighted in and around the park. The diverse habitat is a haven for migratory waterfowl, a variety of shorebirds, wading birds, songbirds, and raptors.

Pacers
Pacer registration is now open in UltraSignup the same way the runners register. This must be completed by the pacers themselves (not the runner). You will be asked who your runner is and the lap. We have limited park capacity and must closely manage the amount of people entering the park. If the pacer/crew numbers are abused there will be additional restrictions. 100M runners can only have a pacer on the final three laps. 100km runners can only have a pacer on the final two laps. Plan on carpooling to save time parking.
