Whiteface Mountain Races

5021 Rt. 86

Wilmington, NY MMR, VK, Mile

About the event

With more vertical gain and loss per mile than possibly any other race in the United States, Whiteface is burly. Your legs will be reduced to Jello, your lungs worked, but you'll have completed a pretty incredible feat. Sound fun? Yeah, we agree. Be sure to take a moment to stop, look up toward some of the best mountain runners in the world shuffling forward to the finish, back toward fellow entrants of all ages, shapes, and sizes moving toward the summit, and around at the brilliant Adirondack Peaks enveloping you. You don't get any of those sights often…soak it up.

USATF Mountain Running Championships

We're honored and excited to be named the 2022 USATF Mountain Running Championships and world mountain team qualifier.

Race Options

You’ll have three options:
1. The USATF Mountain Championship Marshak’s Mountain Race, a single quad and lung crushing 7 mile alpine loop with roughly 4,000 feet of gain (and loss). In tribute to Nick Marshak who passed away during the 2018 Sky Race running. A portion of 2022 entry revenue will go toward a fund that his family feels aligned most with Nick.
2. VK - A race from the bottom to the top, gaining a bit over 3,200' in 3 miles.
3. 1 Mile SkyClimber Kids VK

Whatchya Get?

Entry fee includes the event, short or sleevless Tee, and some sort of finisher's item still to be determined.

Poles

Yup, you can use them. Just be careful not to jab your fellow entrants.
