Knights and trail champions, we take to the trails again on Saturday, November 2, 2024 for our next edition of Conquer the Castle. We have new challenges and changes for you this year. So mark the calendar and get ready to join us at the starting line.

Saturday, November 2, 2024 | AB Williams Memorial Woods, North Chagrin Reservation
- 4:00 AM: Early send off for 100k and 50k runners*
- 4:00 AM: Packet pick up (Will be open throughout day)
- 5:00 AM: 100k starts
- 6:00 AM: 50k starts
- 7:00 AM: 20 Miler starts
- 8:00 AM: 10 Miler & 10 Mile Ruck starts
- 9:00 AM: 5k starts
- 3:00 PM: Hike for your Heart 10 Mile Hike Starts benefitting American Heart Association
- 6:00 PM: must start last loop for 100k
- 9:00 PM: race closes/timing crew packs up.
*Starting in the 4am Early Send Off voids you from Age Group and Overall Awards but not the race or listing in results.
**Awards for Age Groups and Overall will be handed out throughout the day.
Participants who start a loop (loops) after 3:00 PM must have a headlamp or another source of light to help guide them on the trail.
Be Knighted
All 100km, 50km, 20 Mile, 10 Mile runners, 10 Mile Ruck, and 10 Mile Hike for Your Heart will be knighted if they complete an optional hill climb. The hill climb will be behind Squire's Castle and will be marked. You only need to climb the hill once! You will receive a token at the top that you will carry to the finish to receive your swag. [Volunteers will be knighting participants from 5:00 AM - 9:30 AM. After that time, there will be a bucket to collect your coin.]

Jump back in time with us, test your physical and mental fortitude by 'Being Knighted', and earn some awesome swag. Let's get running.
View the Conquer the Castle course: Click Link The route is a 16.7km (10.35 mi) loop. The race closes at 9pm. Any runners out on the course after 9pm may not receive a time or finisher medal for this event (sub 15:30 minutes per mile for the 5am start).
100k - 6 loops
50k - 3 loops
20 Miler - 2 loops
10 Miler - 1 loop
5k - route will use first 5k of course
Course Terrain - Each loop the terrain is 20% paved and 80% trail/gravel
Aid Stations - Aid stations will be at the Start/Finish Line and Mile 5. They will include pretzels, water, electrolyte drink, candy, PB&J, salt tabs, and other items. We recommend you bring your own energy gel but we will have these as well.
Drop Bags - Drop bags will be collected the morning of and delivered to the Mile 5 Aid Station. Details on how to mark your bag will be emailed.
Prizes and Awards- All events will have Overall and Age Group Awards in the form of being immortalized with their name and time on the 'Castle Wall' as well as a photo on the podium.
Earn Free Entry into 2024 by Volunteering - Donate a few hours of your day to help the runners cross the finish line and we'll put you on the starting line* for next year. Limited volunteer spots are available. We’ll fill these first come, first served. Sign up under the volunteer option and please only sign up if you can commit to the shift.
Volunteers receive unique swag and credit towards a Conquer the Castle entry for the following year.
Volunteers working 4-8 hours will receive $65 race entry credit. Volunteers working 8+ hours will receive credit for a full race entry including the 100k. *Credits are applied for Conquer the Castle race entry only. They don’t cover add on costs such as upgrading swag. And can’t be transferred to another race.
Ruck Divisions Those wishing to race in the ruck category must provide their own pack and weight. All participants must wear a ruck/backpack, plate carrier or tactical vest with the minimum weight for your selected category throughout the duration of the event. Gear will be weighed at the start and finish, and must maintain the minimum required weight.
Ruckers will be pre-weighed before the race.
-Ruckers Under 150 lbs must have a backpack with 10 lbs
-Ruckers Over 150 lbs must have a backpack with 20 lbs
Ruck weigh in of packs will be 20 minutes before the race at the starting line. Ruck weight must be on the athlete at all times.

Conquer the Castle Transfer/Refund Policy
Participants who are unable to race can transfer their bib to another participant without incurring a transfer fee. Email our team at melanie@RunTheLand.com by 5:00 PM on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, to complete the transfer. Swag size is not guaranteed for the participant receiving the bib transfer.
There is a no-refund policy for this race, and the 2024 registration cannot be used as a future race entry.
