New Face, New beginnings
You may have noticed that things look a little different this year with Bad Jacks! My name is Jim Mcdonough and I will be your Race Director moving forward. I’m so thankful to Jake and Rusty for trusting me with this and I hope to make it one of the destination races in the state.
I wanted to keep things simple so I can make it the best day possible for the runners, their family, and the volunteers. Each year I hope to build on this and make it a multi-day experience but until then we will have one epic day!

Routes and aid stations
Goatspeed 5k is a great challenge for a seasoned trail runner or someone who wants to just dip their toes into trail running. The route will head out of Blanchard Springs towards Gunner pool via Sylamore trail. Turn around will be marked at 1.55 miles.
The BillyGoat half is a sub-ultra distance that is challenging but also a great start for anyone wanting to build up to the ultra distance. The route is on Jacks Branch loop and it will be ran clockwise. There will be one unmanned aid station roughly halfway through with some scratch and other trail running snacks! Let see if you got that Goat in you!! 5 hour cutoff
We’re cupless
In order to be environmentally conscious we will not provide cups at aid stations or for the after party. All runners will need to have their own bottles, flasks, etc for water. Please bring your own dinnerware and utensils to enjoy the great food, and beverages at the after party.
After Party
Get ready to party like only us trail runners can!! We will have great food, beverages and entertainment!
Please bring the kids too cause this is a family friendly environment where we plan on having cool activities and a race just for the young ones! Reminder to bring your one cups, plates and silverware!
