Overview
REGISTRATION IS DISABLED
We are dialing this back this year. This will simply be a fun run with no signup or fee on Saturday with an optional BYO picnic at the end. As always, run as much or as little as you want, but the expectation is that folks will be back in around 5 hours, so choose a distance accordingly.
The Mark Twain Trail Summit is a celebration of local running clubs including Arch City Run Club, Daily Run Club, St. Louis Trail Running Club, St. Louis Track Club, Jefferson County Run Club, Columbia SMUT, Lake of the Ozarks Runners and the Saint Louis Ultrarunners Group.
The Mark Twain Trail Summit is held at Berryman Campground (Home of the Berryman Trail Races) Southwest of St. Louis. It is a social event that includes a group fun runs on the 26-mile Berryman loop and culminates in a cook out on Saturday afternoon.
Schedule
- September 13: Feel free to arrive early and camp at the primitive Berryman Campground (pit toilets, no water or electricity). Camping at Berryman is first come/first served. Berryman has changed their campground policy and there is now a nominal fee for both overnight and day usage. Payment is cash only.
- September 14, 7:45AM: Huddle up at the main shelter and pick companions for your run. Note that the BT Epic MTB race is also this day, so there will be an aid station for that also being setup. Don't worry, Mountain Bikers don't bite and they know we're coming.
- 8:00AM: Musical sendoff.
- Later that day...: Run as far as you want. Recommended distances are 7, 12, 18 (short loops), or 26 (full loop) miles, but it's totally up to you. Plan on being back between noon and 1 if you want to have company afterwards.
- Sometime in the afternoon: Eric plays his set of ultra-race songs on the Uke. Don't say you weren't warned.
Other Stuff
We'll have water at 10 miles and the artesian well (which is really good spring water, BTW) at 20. Other than that, plan on carrying everything you need.
