The Elephants Perch present, Legends Never Die. September 23 2023 Half Marathon and Ultra Marathon 50 km distances. This trail race is sure to challenge all. Our goal is to raise money for Higher Ground, 10% of proceeds will be donated to this worthy cause.
Runners will receive free event T-Shirt and spot prices and awards for 1st, 2nd and 3rd from our amazing partners.

The Half Marathon course follows the beautiful 13.1-mile single track loop trail from Oregon Gulch. Along track will be exploding with color from fall foliage. The majestic mountain views are sure to take your breath away. Heading south along the river towards Chocolate Gulch and up the mountain along the Oregon-Fox connector, with a race high point of 7,600 and 2,172 ft vertical gain.
Due to popular demand, there will three waves starting at 9:30am 10:00 am and 10:30am.
The Ultra Marathon 50 Km loop course has two waves starts at 8:30am and 9:00am The course will be even harder than last year with new terrain around Fox Peak to a race highpoint of 8,650 feet, with 7,000 elevation gain.
You will feel like you’re in your own private Idaho with unforgettable views of the high surrounding mountains towards Galena climbing the East Fork of Baker Road, head down the road for one mile then turn at Curly’s for a descent towards Easley Hot springs for a full Aid Station and turn around. Back up Curly’s and along East Fork of Baker Road for a different perspective. Five Aid Stations provided by Atkinsons Market back down to Oregon Gulch staying left at Fox Creek Loop limited aid station along gentle terrain for a fast finish at Oregon Gulch.

Parking at Trail Head Start/Finish is extremely limited please board the complementary bus a short 10 minute trip from Ketchum. Bathrooms are located at Bus pickup point , Trail Head Start/Finish and Chocolate gulch.
Aid Stations ,Mile 4.5, Mile 10, Mile 13.1, Mile 17.5, Mile 23, Mile 27 and Finish Providing energy food, Support and H20. Thanks to Atkinsons Market. CREWING IS PERMITTED ON LAST 3 MILES OF THE COURSE ALONG OREGON GULCH TRAIL TO FINISH LINE. Race Photos will be taken by Smiley’s Mountain Photo. LETS DO THIS!
