Florida in January
What could be better than a 50 mile race in Florida in January? This will be a 25 mile out and back, mostly on hard packed lime forest roads, along with a few sections of single track with looser sand. Florida state forests are some of the most well kept parks in the country with super friendly helpful rangers. Don’t miss this chance to run through the beautiful Goethe Forest. This race will be run in conjunction with a horse endurance event making it that much more fun.
Course
Course map in photos, 50 mile course marked in blue. Start/finish and parking is at the tidewater trailhead of the Goethe State Forest off of route 337 (gps might send you down the wrong entrance, look for brown park sign)
Details
Course is an out and back through the beautiful Goethe State Forest. Start is at the Tidewater trailhead, turn around is at the black prong trailhead. Crew access at both trailheads as well as at the Apex Trailhead. Aid stations every 6-8 miles. Typical aid station food, pb and j, chips, pretzels, cookies, candy, soda. Grilled cheese and probably chili at the finish. Heed will be the electrolyte drink.
