Description

The Middle Fork of the Salmon River flows through the heart of the Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness. A coveted rafting trip in it’s own right, Aspire has teamed up with the Helfrich River Outfitters for a 5-day raft supported run along the trails paralleling the river. This means that each day runners and their families will have the option to run, hike, or float to their legs content. Running or rafting, each day will begin and end with delicious meals and some of the best riverside camping this side of the universe.

Course Overview

Day 0
Meet at Helfrich Outfitters Stanley, ID
We’ll meet runners Wednesday evening at 6pm for a trip overview, orientation, and an in person final pre-trip logistics session.

Run/Raft Day’s 1-4
Run, Raft, Repeat: Approximately 20 Mile Days
The Middle Fork Trail parallels the Salmon River. Once on the river each day will be bookended with delicious meals and the full service “glamp” treatment in camps. Daily runs will be approximately 20 miles . We won’t know the final distances until we are assigned our campsites by the national forest a few days before we launch. An Aspire sweep will be on the trail each day, along with a “sweep” raft that will float with runners to each finish. Run or float, either way it’s a win.

Raft Day 5
Float to the Finish
On the last day, 80 miles in, the canyons get steeper and the trail heads into the hills. Here ALL runners will join the flotilla for a final 40 miles of floating and rapids to the river take out.

Cost

Early Bird Registration: $3,300. Ends Jan 31st
Regular Registration: $3,400. Ends April 30th
Late Registration: $3,500.
*Course fees are comparable with similar 5-Day Middle Fork Rafting expeditions. **A registration DEPOSIT is made via Ultrasignup, the balance will be invoiced via Aspire

Trip Insurance

Every year we have at least one runner who due to injury, illness, or personal/familial circumstances can not participate in their registered trip. While registrations can be transferred, Aspire does not issue refunds. See our FAQs. We strongly encourage each runner to purchase 3rd party trip insurance that will reimburse the cost of registration in the event that you are unable to participate in the event.
