Overview

Costa Rica 200 is a nonstop 200-mile ultramarathon journey across the country of Costa Rica, from the Caribbean to the Pacific ocean.

Discover some of Costa Rica’s most hidden and picturesque communities along the 200-mile (320 km) course going from sea level to more than 8,000 ft (2424m), with temperatures ranging below 35℉ (2°C) on the highest point on the course and above 90℉ (32°C) on the lowlands near the coasts.

Costa Rica 200 is more than an ultramarathon, it is a cultural and scenic journey across an entire country and a way to promote tourism and support the rural and indigenous communities along the route.

  • Aid+ Station: 3 Aid Stations will have an Aid+ (plus) designation, which means they have ‘Sleep’ Stations, Drop Bags, more hot food and beverage choices, enhanced medical support and Pacer/Crew Access.

Required Items



  • All Categories - MEDICAL: A Signed Medical

  • Certificate from racer doctor certifying they are in the proper condition to participate in this event.

  • 200 Solo Only - PROOF OF Finisher Results: for a 200-mile race completed within the last 24 months, or…

  • 200 Solo Only - A race of (or FKT/non-race run) 100k or longer completed within the last 12 months before the event start date (Official Results or valid Strava link are acceptable).

Yes, we have cash awards for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Solo female and male finishers! No cash awards for 200 Relay



  • 1st Place 200 Solo Female - U$2,000 + a cool trophy

  • 1st Place 200 Solo Male - U$2,000 + a cool trophy

  • 2nd Place 200 Solo Female - U$1000 + a cool trophy

  • 2nd Place 200 Solo Male - US$1000 + a cool trophy

  • 3rd Place 200 Solo Female - U$750 + a cool trophy

  • 3rd Place 200 Solo Male - U$750 + a cool trophy

  • Last Place 200 Solo racer - a very cool and honorable trophy.

  • 1st 200 Relay Team - regardless of the number of team members.
