The Smokey Connection

In 1950, a badly burned black bear cub named "Hotfoot" was found by firefighters in Lincoln National Forest. This brave little survivor became Smokey Bear, America's wildfire prevention icon. So popular he had his own ZIP code, Smokey lived at the National Zoo until 1976, when he returned home to rest beneath a tree in Capitan that grows stronger with his legacy.

Now, you can run where Smokey's story began, adding your own tale of endurance to these historic grounds.

The Yeti Spirit

  • Community over competition
  • No pressure, no stress
  • Every distance celebrated
  • Every runner supported
  • Every mile counts

Come run where legends are born. Whether you're chasing 100 miles or your first ultra finish, you'll find your place in the shadow of Smokey's mountains. #YetiStyle #SmokeysTrails
